Ground Ivy in Macro (Mini Photo Essay)

The fields around where we live are purple.  It's so beautiful.  They are all covered in ground ivy.  I would really like to get a shot of a specific field up the road from where we live.  The entire thing is purple, and it looks so neat from the road.  The field behind our house is not quite as purple as that field.  It is not covered in ground ivy but only in spots.  The color of the purple is actually much brighter than it shows in the following photo.

I took the time the other day to get a few macros of some of the ground ivy in this field.  The pictures really aren't all that great.  It has been so windy here that is is hard to get a picture of a plant, because the wind blows it around so much.  These were the best photos I was able to get.  The ground ivy is so interesting up close I thought.

It is funny how something so pretty and neat-looking is considered a yard weed that everyone tries so hard to get rid of.  We have one small patch in our yard.  We are going to leave it, because our rabbits seem to like to eat the stuff.

Very pretty. I have yet to get figure out my macro setting on my camera. I have tried, but it always comes out looking weird.

This is beautiful Victoria, like the purple! We have a lot of English Ivy ground cover across the road in front of my home...I catch me self looking at it quite often this time of the year since it is living and green~~~~~~

I think it's lovely. I think a lot of weeds are just as pretty as planted flowers. You did a good job with the pictures.
