Update: Winter Storm Warning - ICE STORM

It has rained and sleeted and thunderstormed off and on all day.
It is just bizarre to be sitting here chilled listening to the rain fall outside knowing that we're covered in ice.
The weather forecast said that it will keep doing this off and on all night and we could end up with an inch to an inch and a quarter more ice than we already have.

This is definately not as bad as it was last year.  They are saying power outages are possible all night.  There are 4000 homes without power right now.  That is much better than last year when it was more than 80,000.  Of course that doesn't help those cold people in those 4000 homes feel better.

We could get some snow too.

It is supposed to warm some Wednesday and Thursday and then another storm will bring more winter weather on Friday.  I miss my pretty pink sunset from 2 days ago.
Isn't spring coming soon?

At least we are a little more prepared than last year.  We have the means to cook here in the house and we bought a heater that uses propane that can heat a room.  If we have to we will huddle in and survive.

It is strange that ice can look so beautiful and be so deadly.
