Greetings folks:
I am a woman who always wears unique clothes. My closet is filled with clothes my dear Aunt Angelica designed and created. They are timeless and I often wear them. Now, that she's gone, I am left to find my own creative garments. If I can't buy them in thrift stores or on some bargain table, I make them. My get-ups can be simple.
Here I am in a reverse tie-dyed t-shirt. What you do is take anything that's all cotton and black. I wear black all the time so have many things that I can work with. About once a year, I take all the faded black stuff and get after it with chlorox bleach.
There's lots of ways to do this but the simplest is to take rubber bands and create designs as you bunch of the fabric. Once you do that, then fill the bathroom or kitchen sink with bleach and add water. Dip in the areas you want to bleach, if it doesn't bleach all the way, then add more bleach or enjoy the variations - sometimes you'll get brown or yellow or gray - depends on the dye used in the first place.
I have done whole outfits like this - they are fun and funky to hang around in and that's me - fun and funky! So enjoy and let me know how your new t-shirt or other glad rags turn out! Have a great day. Thanks for reading this. Salud.

My favorite article of clothing (packed away in a box someplace out there, ha) is a pair of jeans that my friend's wives would needle point(?) designs and sayings in over the years. Very colorful, and full of patches for holes they made for me too! It seemed to take off like signing a cast, with everybody wanting to add something unique. I used to get the oddest looks when I wore them sometimes, but what the hey... ha ha.
Take care.
And yes, a lovely warm feeling when it is 20 degrees.
She has a very unique and adventurous design sense (clearly not gotten from her Talbots toting mom).
She's tried to loosen me up; she did talk me into buying some French hip-hugger jeans, some low-cut tops and some high healed boots. Everybody (female, anyway) wears this stuff here!
I ruined a pair of capri pants last summer when I used Tilex in the tub while wearing them. The over spray left some unusual streaks. Kevin got creative and sprayed the heck out of them, making a lost pair of pants into something still usable. Creativity rocks.
Lovely article and now I feel to wear the Tie Dye T-shirt.
thank you for your friendship and sweet comments...
I wish I had time to make t-shirts now Miz Sheila but my time is so taken up with my book I'm working on - but I can guide you through it - there's no mistakes only surprises - you can't mess up! But thanks for the offer of the jelly - sounds good! Salud.
Lots of fun just be sure to work somewhere bleach will not damage and use a nonreactive container - a heavy plastic tub works well - we also had fun spraying them hanging on a clothesline - wet shirts first and hang on a plastic hanger and spray a bit and watch - rinse well!
