The list of closed schools was long on the radio.
The flashes and thunder are unreal and very close.
BUT, it is sleet and ice is coating the streets.
My husband tried to get ice off the car for 30 minutes and gave up and emailed work he wasn't coming in. They called 20 minutes later and said they'd decided to close for the day and no one was supposed to come in.
They announced that they've given up clearing the streets of all the ice and are just putting salt down and hoping for the best and people should stay home.
This brings a fear to my heart because last years ice storm had us without power in our home for 13 days. I'm really praying we don't lose power.
I took a few pictures to show the ice we've gotten so far, at least what is on my back deck.
The thunder is shaking the whole house right now over and over again.
It is so wierd to hear thunder and watch the ice coming down.

It supposed to hit this afternoon and little sleet pellets are currently falling.
We lost power last time as well and we are hoping and praying that we don't this time!
