Another New Painting and First Attempt

    I worked on this for almost 4 hours and I don't know if I will change anything or not.  I decided to try another flower but this time to try adding a hummingbird.  Right now I am so tired of looking at it that I am just going to go ahead and publish it anyway.

What an amazing painting, Anne Marie! The placement of the hummingbird over the flower gives it a three dimensional quality. The hummingbird itself is beautifully done and I love how the brushstrokes you have used on the flower petals make them look real. Wow!

You really captured the hibiscus...I like this one much more than the other flower. I also like the background. It is nice how you are branching out into other subjects. Thanks for the comment earlier...I'm really glad we are connected.

It is good and I agree that it looks as if it is a stained glass drawing because of the bold lines on the bird wings. What kind of colors did you use?

Thank you for all the nice comments. It is acrylic paint ( white, blue, green, sap green, red, scarlet, black, a tiny bit of yellow on the flower and a little silver in the bird painted back over with blue and green combinations.

I love the vivid colors! The balance is beautiful, too. The eyes are telling, and he looks as if he has something on his mind. Really beautiful.

That is just the cutest humming bird I have ever seen. really hope you don't make any changes. It is adorable. I would hang it in my foyer as it is!
