"I'm home!"
"In the kitchen, George." His wife yelled.
"So, where's our birthday girl?"
"In the attic again."
"Have you finished her cake?"
"Take a look."
"Happy 15th Birthday, Charlene. That's beautiful."
Charlene always loved looking through her mom's old things. Today, she found an old, dusty typewriter, under the window seat. There was a half completed letter still inside...

Dear Charles,
I know it's been a couple of months. I need to see you. There's something you need to know...
"Happy Birthday!"
"Thanks Dad! Hey Mom? Who's Charles?"
Her mother dropped the cake.

A masterful write with just the right doses of suspense and drama. I truly enjoyed reading this. You've charmed the reader with Charlene's innocent ability to flabbergast her mother on a very poignant occassion.
