Considering the age this book is in great shape. Pages are yellowed, no tears, no marks. The back cover has a bit of a rip on the map page in the binding seam. Otherwise in perfect shape.
Closer scrutiny did show some damage, but it's still fairly minimal for it's age.
The book is illustrated throughout with these adorable pen and ink drawings.
Here's the front cover. It's rather plain with a gold image and gold writing.

Here's a closer look at the front cover without the flash reflected on it.

The back cover is just plain green.

The binding apparently does have words and a picture, but I could not see it until the flash picked up on it in this shot.

The pages are roughly cut and uneven.

The inside cover - both front and back - is this adorable map.

Just look at this. The copyright page. Aside from the light and dark ink tones the last date listed is August 1929! It appears this is the date from my edition. Wow!

The full copyright page:

This is in the front of the book. A name in pencil and a discard stamp. There's also a tear on the bottom.

Another page in the front with a tear along with the introduction letter by A.A. Milne.

One more page in the beginning with a tear. This is the rest of A.A. Milne's letter/introduction.

The following are random pages with some cute drawings on them.

This is the back map. There's a bit of tearing on the top layer of the map and a bit of damage to the center.

This is the overleaf of the back map.

There you have it. An old, adorable treasure from the Winnie The Pooh collection. All flaws have been presented here. The rest of the book appears flawless.
I tried to locate some like mine online, and see they are hard to find. However, I came up with this as a search result. The description matches mine on the cover details.

Having said that, let me say that the Winnie the Pooh first appeared on the scene in 1924, in a poetry collection. He first appeared in a story book in 1926...the very year of your book's publication. I think you have a first edition, my friend!! And I suspect that it is very valuable, all the more since it is in pristine condition! Wow! Congrats!! :D
If I were you I would change the title of this article to: Book Treasure: I Own One of the First Winnie the Pooh Books.
Please take it to a reputable book dealer and have it apraised...then tell us!! ;)
I pulled it out of Gideon's closet (safe on the top shelf) a while ago and was amazed at how wonderful the condition was and the age. It is undoubtedly rare as I tried to Google it and I have found nothing at all on it.
I wonder how many others are out there?
I will change the title and remove the Disney Reference. I am awfully curious what it's worth. I would never, ever sell it, but I'm still curious. I have no idea who would know what it's worth, though. Which is why I went online in search for others like mine.
It looks as though someone has put a price of 70 pounds on their copy of a similar edition.
That would be about 150 dollars.
There may be more copies stored in home libraries; the book went through sixty-eight editions in three years.
That is a phenomenal sales record.
I'd imagine very few of these are up for sale, for many of the reasons I'll never sell mine.
Thanks for posting to "All Photo Essays Here"!
A big THANK YOU for my sister Elaine for taking over the moderator duties of BEST ORIGINAL PHOTOS, ART AND WRITING and I thank YOU for posting your original work to this group.
Mine is the 68th edition from 1929... who knows. It's the same cover design, though, but that means little.
Glad you all enjoyed a peek at it. :) Now back it goes to the safety of my closet.
Thanks for posting!
