The Necklace

I see it there sitting on the shelf with a slight blue twinkle, as it glistens in the lamp light. It is merely an object, but to me it is so much more. When I drape it around my neck it is there as a symbol. To me it is symbolic as it shows the world that I have two great loves in my life.

It shows the love that has been given to me by my one and only true love here on this earth. James gave me his love with the act of giving this precious piece of jewelry. It did not cost much, it is not real silver and the jewels are not precious, but that does not matter to me. The love he put into finding the perfect necklace was enough to make it one of the most valuable things I own.

But there is another love that it represents. It also shows the love I have for my God. He is my protector and the ultimate power of powers who gives me so much strength when I need it.

In a sense, when I wear this necklace I am showing all who glimpse it a little piece of me.
