The American Red Cross is on the ground and aiding those who lost so much in the recent tornadoes in MO, TN, KY and AR. Please consider giving a donation, no matter how small to your American Red Cross and earmark it for Tornado Victims.

You can help the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year, disasters like the February tornadoes, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. This Fund enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disasters. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster please do so at the time of your donation by either contacting 1-800-HELP NOW or mailing your donation, with the designation, to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013

The news coverage of this showed terrible devastation over a very large area. It was terrible to see people's homes blown into a pile of boards.
The Red Cross and the churches really have their hands full supplying aid and they do need all the help they can get.

Thank you for the info and links. Sometimes I think people feel helpless when they have no money to donate, so I'm so glad you mentioned prayers for these people. No one should ever underestimate the power of prayer!

Thanks for the reminder. Remember when donating to Red Cross to designate February Tornadoes for the money to go directly to these victims.

I have been in 4 tornadoes and it is the worst thing that could happen to anyone. The first one I was in was in Xenia, Ohio in 1974. I was 14 at the time. I still have nightmares if I see a tornado, even on TV.

We are very, very poor but the year that we had the terrible floods here in Sonoma County in Northern CA, I volunteered my time and worked at the Red Cross shelter they had set up in the Vet's Building in town... The workers there were so happy to see me! (Just thought I'd throw that idea out for anyone who's in the same financial state as I am...) :o)
