i quit buying or having diamonds purchased for me when I read of the horrible plight and enslavement of the African people working the diamond mines.

De Beers has always fixed diamond prices. They openly talked about it for years. I find it more than odd that the suit only goes back 14 years. Think about it. Young people can not afford big rocks, but people whose children a grown, can.

I have a few rings that have diamonds in them. Not certain that we can find or still have the receipts. You don't have to send proof with the intial filing, but may later have to send them to the claims administrator.

I did have a diamond ring... When my daughter was about 4 years old, she flushed it down the toilet.

I actually set this site aside. Do you know if there is a limit on how many claims you can make? I have several diamonds that were purchased during this time.

I just watched Blood Diamonds a while ago. It brought it all home to me anew how the diamond industry has been so horrible to the African people. Jett, you are so right. Diamonds have never been rare, and De Beers isn't the only company that is doing this kind of thing. It is criminal on a world-wide scale and they should be all forced to open their vaults and let the market settle the values out the same way everything else is done, supply and demand. It is a joke for them to claim that have never fixed the prices or held up supply, etc. Like the cigarette companies saying that they never knew that tobacco was addicting or harmful. The things we put up with in this world. I will never buy another diamond. It would be so wonderful if the entire world would take a pledge to never buy another new diamond, ever. Ah well. That won't happen. :o(
