"So I receive the knowledge to control this magic on my own tomorrow at the coronation? My coronation?"
"Yes, my Queen." I said relaxing on the chair next to the bed, as much as I could while playing with some magic inhibiting bracelets.
"What are they?" the queen asked, only partially awake.
Magic inhibiting bracelets for you. I'm getting tired of balancing your magic, and I need to be well rested for your coronation tomorrow. I can't rest letting your magic I gave you run rampid. I must protect the people, yourself, and I'd like to live to see tomorrow.
I thought this magic ran on thoughts?
It does majesty, it does, but it also takes into account movements. Every movement means something. Very sorry, but it's something I must do for the good of the land and my sanity, as well as to preserve my magic for tomorrow.
I slipped the bracelets on her wrists, and the anklets onto her feet. She tried struggling to very minimal avail. She was still quiet and conscious but couldn't move for the most part on her own any longer. I told her about the coronation and how it is unlike any previous one she ever had, as this one was magical. She was anxious to get ready, but was rather confused, when I told her she would not walk into the coronation ceremony, she was already almost ready....but she was still very much awake.
"I'm hungry, I don't want to sleep. I haven't eaten at all today, actually I don't think I've eaten since I've been missing. Some care for a queen!"
You haven't eaten since you've been on La La Land. On Jadiana, you were fed. You may not remember but you were fed. Do you know what we had to go through to care for you?
Someone was always awake at your side, watching over you at all hours of the night. I have not slept in two month's time. The King never left your side, except when I made him get rest or I had to care for you. Knight Baiden cared for your unicorns pulling your chariot. He brought you flowers every morning. The Minister of UnCulture has offered her Church for your coronation. Under normal circumstances, it would normally be performed at the Dynasty Cathedral on Jadiana. The Empress, the one you swear is evil had made you comfortable, brushed you hair twice a day, and she helped to cleanse the crown with the King, Minister, and myself. I fed you, I cared for you, I protected you and gave you shelter. I gave your King and Queendom Magic. I have aged a millenia in the past two months because of my loyalty to you, keeping you between the extremes! Do you know how troublesome and consuming it is to keep someone in the mists between thriving and unconscious, not quite living but not quite dead? The Daughter of Death took your place in the dungeons. We are the reason you even exist. We could have left you in the depths of the Deepest Dungeon in the Galaxy. Is that what you wanted? I didn't have to do this! I could have "pulled the plug" and watched you whither away between the realms somewhere.
I was getting quite restless and angry. I needed sleep. I needed to relax. I needed to be able to think freely and I had just made the queen scream in fear of me. Alright, it's okay, it's okay....hold on. I got up and adjusted the queen to a sitting position and called for room service that I stopped at the door. I took the bowl of soup and, again locked the door. The King took the soup and started feeding the Queen, as I did not want to be bothered. After she was finished, I told her, that I had to prepare her for the ceremony now. I told the King that he was no longer welcome in the room and that he was to meet us at the Church for the Coronation in the morning.
Meanwhile, I was tired and still angered from our argument before her dinner. There were two ways to do this coronation. I had the choice. The outcome was the same, the ceremony was all that differed. I decided to deviate. It seemed more fitting to draw the ceremony out, and the process as well as I was growing weaker by the moment. My magic came and went in reserves. It would mean a more painful annointment for the Queen, but that was all. Yes, I was still a little mad when this final decision was made.
I grabbed the Crown of Coronation Preparation in a fit of frustration thrusting the green crystal in it's setting. Then I placed it on her head, leaving my hand on it for a moment to speed the process up. For this I could not warn her of what was to come. As I placed it on her head, the crystal began to shine and increase with intensity. She left out blood curdling screams of shear pain, as the only sure signs of life were leaving her body, and entering the crown that rest upon her forehead. Sea Blue Waves of ribbon enveloped her body, binding it tightly and thouroughly only to then vanish. This signaled approaching disaster. The sign of ribbons were not good. She turned pale and cold, until her chest rose only miniscule amounts. The only movement she was able to make while wearing inhibiting bracelets, and did so quite miraculously, was grasping my wrist before her eyes went unresponsive and void.. I pryed her long, cold fingers off my arm, and ran my fingers over her soul deadened eyes to close them. Finally, I could rest.
The next morning, the Queen was a pale, almost translucent white. To stare at her, you didn't even notice that she was indeed alive, as you could not see her breathing. She was ready.
I awoke, and found she was ready for the coronation. I carefully lifted her almost lifeless body, and carried her to the Coronation Casket. Basically, it was like a display case that when closed, suspended life. I removed the bracelets and anklets, and regained control of her magic for a short time. I also changed the crystal from green to a fire opal. It would stabilize her and allow her to respond to my voice. As I did so, I whispered in her ear:
I removed your bracelets, but I am getting weaker. I'm giving you something to tide you over until the annointment. Also, I'm suspending your life, so in a sense you will be reborn. Try not to drown in your own thoughts and fancies.
I wasn't very sweet, but maybe she would see that even in La La Land, not all things are ALL the time. With that I pushed her hair back to the side, and injected a large syringe full of magic suspension serum into her main artery in her neck, where upon doing so she spit up black blood. I quickly cleaned her up, as I didn't have much time as the appearance of blood so signified. I had to suspend her life, before there was no life to suspend. I folded her hands across her chest, and sealed the glass lid. Essentially, she was as close to death as she would ever get.
It was a 20 minute ride to the Church of UnCulture. All of La La Land and Jadiana were going to be there. There were a few stragglers hoping to see the queen on her way to the ceremony, and they did. I kept getting sidelined with questions if she was really dead and if this was a method of announcing her imminent dissolution calmly. How you confuse coronation with dissolution and demise is really beyond my thinking right this moment. I needed to get to the Church. The Queen in waiting, needed to arrive at the church, her life depended on it, because if the suspension serum wore off before she was out of the life suspension, it could virtually kill all the land, her included, as I was not strong enough to hold her magic back on my own until after her annointment.
Yes, what once was my magic, was now divided amongst myself, the King, and the Queen. I was able to deliver the knowledge to use it and control it when I gave it to the King, but the Queen gets the more powerful magic and that I could not control as it was not my own any more to fully do so, using what magic I had left as I was several millenia old. So I sent out one wave of answers through the air: Do not worry, do not be alarmed, attend the ceremony and all will be unveiled.
We arrived at the church, and the king was waiting. He was a little alarmed at the Queen's appearance. She looked dead. It was easier to have the King see her now than it would have been in the transformation as she slept. That is why I threw him out of the room. The transformation was absolutely dreadful.
The Minister of UnCulture announced to the crowd, once everyone was inside to not be alarmed at anytime during the ceremony as this was an enchanted coronation, the first of its kind here in La La Land. Everything was under control. Presiding would be the King Peter, we all know. He had some magic instilled upon him by the wonderful moon princess. Also, the one and only Moon Princess would be the Master of ceremonies. There is no service register, as these ceremonies are rather free flowing. No telling what may happen.
The King on one side, myself on the other walked along side the enchanted coronation casket. The queen in waiting, was facing the door so that when she was at the point she needed to stop, she would be facing the crowd for the coronation to begin. Upon entering, the Queen was welcomed by this anthem:
Welcome to the Queen on this chosen day!
To retake the throne, of La La Land, her home.
Welcome to the Queen!
Magic is in the air! Everyone is here.
We await the time for balance restoration!
Please go on with this lovely coronation!
When we reached the front of the church, we turned towards the crowd, and then towards the "casket". Resting our left hands on the sides, and touching fingertips of your right hands above the Queen in waiting's head, the lid vanished. There were oohs and ahhs mingled throughout the crowd as well as shrieks of horror from those sitting nearest.
She was still dressed in peasant's clothing, her hair a virtual mess. Our left arms each slid under her knees, our right arms thus supporting her head as her arms were around our necks. Carrying her like this, we walked up the stairs to the annointing pool. It was built specially for this occasion, filled with water, from the Lady of the Lake of Jadiana.
Translucent is, mortal was, immortal to ever be, we said in unison. This pool was 10 feet deep, and with her unconscious, the people thought she would surely drown as they gasped, some in horror, some in awe, There was little life left in her body, she was not visibly breathing and was the palest person you have ever seen. In all honesty, I thought I may have been a little excessive at points, but I did what I had to do. It wasn't my fault if she couldn't take it. For her to pull through without a hitch would be a miracle in and of itself after the ribbon episode. We let go of her feet and they touched the water. Her arms were still around our necks, and before we dropped her completely, we leaned forward, whispering for her ears only," Rebirth is the way, learn to listen to our minds. We are all one." At that point, we dropped her in the water.
When fully submerged in water, she transformed. She was bound at her wrists and ankles. She was tangled in sea blue waves of ribbon. The ribbons seemed to be pulling her down to the bottom of the tank, something had gone wrong. She should have never been bound. The glass pool made the process entirely visible to the crowd, she awoke when she hit the bottom of the pool, and began breathing, inhaling water, and struggling with her binds. The fire opal, started glowing, and then the entire pool appeared "fogged up", but it wasn't. At this point, no one could see the Queen. They, the King, and I alike, were holding on to the distant hope that all would be okay. The King and I stood looking down, with our hands at the ready, wondering if we should enter the water after her.
In a moment's notice though, the water, turned to diamonds, and the queen came to the surface, grabbing our hands, gasping violently for air. She went into the water, a peasant, dressed horridly, was bound beyond all else, and out came this beautiful, not yet Queen. She was dressed all in a lovely maroon full flowing gown, with a white velvet robe with a long train. Her hair up in a complicated updo, garnished with wonderful diamonds.
She wouldn't have been gasping for air, had she not almost drown in her own thoughts and fancies. Normally, after emerging, she'd walk on her own down the staircase, but she was still shaking and violently gasping for air.
We led her down the winding staircase from which we carried her up, and allowed her to kneel in front of her throne. The King was left to tend to her. It was time for my speech.
The King was supposed to be sitting on his throne, listening silently, but as plans have deviated, so had his obligations. Instead he was sitting on his throne, supporting the queen. She was kneeling next to her throne, but was still catching her breath and wavering greatly.
People and magical beings of La La Land and Jadiana, these last couple months have been gruesomely horrid with the queen's kidnapping, the mark, the spell of ages, and the period with no one queen. As you can see, I have underwent some changes too. I'm beginning to show my age, and with the release and sharing of magic, I am feeling it too. I have grown wonderfully pink hued wings, adorned with my favorite magical violet crystals, but that is not why we are here today. We are here to celebrate the rebirth of our newly reformed queen. She is still the queen you have come to know and adore, but after this day, she will be more powerful, filled with magic, and the knowledge to use it for all things good. The King has already approached this point. She will once again reign over La La Land.
I have thought long and hard on how to design a crown befitting of her, capable of withholding and instilling all the knowledge she is to need, and I have come up with but one solution as opposed to what would equate to many millenia of training, my crown.
This action will allow her to be your humble Queen Carol, of La La Land, and the next Princess of Jadiana. Yes, there is no Queen of Jadiana in bodily form. For Jadiana's queen, look to the spirits. The Wind Spirit is the Queen of Jadiana, but is better known in spirit form.
Moving onward, the moon princess walks over to the queen in waiting, who is still kneeling, still shaking but looking down at the floor, as our thoughts have so guided her. She is not fully aware of the impact of my speech I just gave, and has no idea that my crown, will now be hers. The King is sitting in his throne, beside hers, steadying her from shaking. I kneel, on a step beneath her, and direct her attention so that she meets my gaze.
I remove her coronating crown, for lack of a better name, and I toss it up and into the crowd, before it hits someone, it turns into three white doves, that fly free and up to Jadiana. She is now fully alert to my every word.
"Oh Carol, you have been thru ages dark and grim, pleasant and binding.I gave you the largest portion of my magical powers, when you were unwilling, kept you sedated, or restrained in one form or another for the past two months, and you never really understood
why. I have taken your voice so no one could hear your screams as the magic flowed through your veins, I wore your crown when I was your keeper, and turned it to dust upon returning it to you. I suspended your life, controled your thoughts. Technically, I did the next thing to killing you, just so you could live anew, pure, simple, immortal, and fulfilled with magic that you always longed for but would never come out and ask for.
I have protected you for the past two months, taking you to my cottage, the only place I ever felt safe. I shrouded you in a pillowed cloud, the night I gave you the magic you didn't desire so not to hurt yourself or others. I kept you sedated for reasons of the same nature with binding bracelets, suspension serum, the coronation crown, for all of La La land's, Jadiana's and your own safety. I have given magic to your king, and to you, to equal the worlds, what we set out to do two months ago on that fateful day, and you never really understood why."
The Queen in waiting, was slowly starting to cry.
"I have done all this, with you never understanding me or my actions. I told you last night that you would have a grander crown, one that tops all, and that would hold all the knowledge of your newly found magic until this coronation, where by the end, you will possess it solely. For the last month I've consulted with the local jewel making guild and with dissatisfaction, nothing would or ever could grow to suit you. There is only one crown my lady that will fill your needs."
(Music started softy playing in the distant background)
With that I lower my gaze, and lift the crown off my head. "May everything you need be here" Then I place it, ever so gently on her head. She wavers for a moment, and I steady her, without meeting her gaze. Our gaze must not meet each other's unless, she forgives my actions I so stated to her just moments before. I lead her back to her throne, and sit her down when a strong wind, breaks the door open and fills the Church. The ceremony is incomplete.
The crowd is causing such a commotion, and I look to the King and Queen, and they too are uncertain of what to do. The Queen's coronation is by no means over, which means, I am still controlling her magic as even though the crown is on her head, and little has been transferred, as the ceremony is not over. I walked towards it, it was beckoning me. I too should be frightened as this was how it all began, but the wind felt different to me. It felt refined, welcoming, like the home I left so many millenia ago.
When I reached the middle of the church, the wind took form. Traveling with the exalted Wind Spirit were the other spirits of the Friendly forest. The wind Spirit was the most beautiful in all of Jadiana. In La La Land, she rated 2nd, only to the Queen. She had long, strikingly wavy blond hair, fair white skin, daring green eyes, and upon her head was a crystal branch crown, with golden and silver leaves intertwined. She was Jadiana's Queen. She looked 30, but in reality, was around when time began.
"Sorry to interupt, Jadian, but the three doves you left loose came to alert us of your deeds", the Wind Spirit said aloud for all to hear.
At that time, the King stood to use his magic on these spirits. He didn't know they were good beings, as he has never seen them. Neither had the queen. They had never met the Queen of Jadiana or other others. I sensed this and moved my hand backwards, catching the spell. For the Queen of Jadiana, is nice and all, but sometimes, she can be a real ice queen. As the spell hit my hand, magic dust fell to the ground and disappeared, without the knowledge of any of the Spirits.
"Look my child, look back at what you had done, you have fulfilled the prophecy and more besides. You were asked to keep the Queen safe, and you offered her safety in the only place you feel safe. Not your castle, but your childhood home. You gave her safety, the only way you knew how, and you had no regrets. You were asked to return her crown and you gave her and her king magic and her, your crown. Showing you are selfless, has brought forth the quickening, the reason you tire so quickly. You are one of us now. You are no longer the moon princess, a title which you filled so well, you are a goddess, a queen or a spirit of protection as we are so often called. Only in showing your selflessness you have crossed our kind. You are able to retain your human body, gain our power, and have your wings, you so gave yourself to spare others the often inconvenience of them. This has caused quite a stir, and it has been decided we are to give the Queen and King a gift at the end of the coronation, thereby concluding the ceremony, prior to the exiting. You are now, the Queen of Jadiana, a Queen that needs no crown. If an event rises where a crown is needed, one to suit your personality as Queen of Jadiana will me custom made for you. Queen Carol of La La Land, is now also Princess of Jadiana. However, she is forever a Princess of Jadiana, as she is not of Jadiana descent. Please, do go on with your ceremony.
I walked back to the Queen when she decided to stand and drop to her knees.
If anyone should be kneeling and looking away it is I, Queen Jadian of Jadiana. For you have done all this and I was blind to it. I forgive you now and always, whatever your title, you will be treated as an equal or better. "Rise Child," I said. The Queen rose and we both courtsied each other.
There were only four things left.
I kneeled and spoke. Four things to seal the world in which we have made for ourselves here and now. Remember, the hidden staircase, and how you knew not what was there? No one could, or shall I say would tell you? I tried telling you, yet no one would listen?
Yes, I go there frequently because it keeps me busy trying to figure it all out.
"Look into my hand", for it was filled with water. In the water was a reflection. It was the royal orb. You now have the power to view it, to use it as you wish. I turned towards the audience, and with a splash of fireworks, left loose indoors, the reflection I just showed the Queen, I displayed it to the crowd for all to see.
As the ceremony was drawing to a close, she was finally controlling her own powers.
Here my Queen be the sceptre. With it you shall rule. With it you shall simply be.
With it, I so annoint you and name you Queen of La La Land forevermore, and Princess of Jadiana for an eternity.
Do you accept your oath?
"Yes My Lady, Yes my people, and yes to my dear king.
King Peter rose, and I too rose. The Queen remained seated. Together the King and I reached for the drinking glass.
We approached the Queen, and both kneeled. Yes, King Peter kneeled to the Queen. I again, spoke. Then allow this to be the last act of joint magic in the land unless trouble once again rises. We are three, but together, our magic is united.
We all place our hands on top of each other's above the glass. Heart and mind, body and soul bound together acting as one though three separate until need be. With that, the one glass becomes three and we each drink from a goblet of wine.
It is now time for the Friendly Spirits, I now being one of them unlike any other, join them to grant their gift. The King and Queen sit down. We all kneel before the queen.
There is Wind, Lady of the Lake, Wood, and Fire. Two to my left, and two to my right.
Wind speaks. You have heard how she was so selfless, refering to Jadian. This put the powers that are into motion. She became one of us unlike any other. This has not occured in many many millenia. For her actions, as well as yours it is her doing that we present you with this gift.
Out of thin air, a bundle appears in the Lady of the Lake's arms. She passes the bundle to Queen Carol of La La Land. The Queen unfolds the pink blanket and is surprised and in total awe of what she finds: a newborn baby girl.
Oh my! What is her name? She's the most adorable bundle of joy. We will care for her as our own, they said between tears of joy. Wood and Fire said next, that since, she was the current Queen Jadian's (former Moon Princess's) child in a sense - The first child to come of Jadiana in millenia, and a child born with magic, It was the Queen of Jadiana's duty to name her.
I was in awe and shock all at once. I looked at her. and thought long and hard....for in years to come she too would be the Moon Princess of Jadiana and the next Queen of Jadiana.
I told the queen my choice:~Princess Armina Nokomis of La La Land & Jadiana~
For she is indeed, the soldier daughter of the moon.
The Queen welcomed Jadian to her castle any time to help care for Armina or visit if she wished. Open invite, no bars held.
The newly annointed, reborn Queen Carol of La La Land and her family rose to music playing vibrantly in the background and walked out to the royal chariot as the joined anthems of La La Land and Jadiana played in the background simultaneously. From one side, all the Jadianaian's were singing Jadiana's Anthem, and all the La Laians were singing La La land's Anthem on the other side. They flowed nicely together. Queen Jadian of Jadiana joined them.
