Does anyone know what happens to your Gather friends when you never again see them or hear from them? Many people come and go from Gather, but some people mean a lot more than others.
Lately, I have been very concerned about two such people that were here when I first came to Gather and now can't find anywhere. Kat Gore and Iris J are people that were very influential and helpful to me during my first weeks on Gather. Has anyone heard anything of them ?
Are you looking for anyone specific? Let us know and maybe someone knows something. I just hope all is o-kay with my lost gather friends.

Most people get wrapped up in work, homelife or social networks are just a phase for them and they move on. Most times is sucks when you look forward to reading what someone writes or seeing what they publish, and they no longer participate.
So yes, I know the feeling.

Ina wrote a good article about this topic a few weeks ago. She suggested letting someone you really trust here know your home phone, or address so that you can be checked on if you turn up missing.

Sometimes life gets in the way. I was gone almost three months (I THINK a few people noticed... I hope so) because of moving, remodeling and no internet connection. I have wondered about Kat Gore, too.
While I was finishing this past semester of classes, and getting used to a new full time job at the same time, I wasn't online very much at all. I published nothing, but I came by Gather a time or two just to see what some of my favorite online buddies were up to. I think I'd like the idea of being able to contact a few of them outside of Gather.
