Today the temperature almost reached 70 in Eastern KY. Other than the sogginess of completely saturated ground from heavy storms, this made the today's walk particularly pleasurable. Also, there was the meditative sound of the rapidly flowing water along with the wind.
I started out, forgetting the camera. The creeks and waterfalls were just too good today; so after walking about a fourth of a mile I decided to go back for the camera.

The wide path here was actually an old road used before cars. This road at one time came up by our house (circa 1912) in what used to be the front of the house. It's now in the back as we've switched what used to be the front to be back. My relatives have told me stories of how the governor used to come by and buy vegetables from my grandmother. The tree fell down due to the high winds last night.

You can see one of the waterfalls here.

At this point the path comes up along the field. We have a circular bicycle trail around this field, which makes a one half-mile lap.

The next two pictures are taken from the same vantage point. It's from the top of a rock along the path that we use as a meditation or picnic spot. Looking down, glancing to the left you see the waterfall. Glancing over to the right you see the bridge covered creek running from the waterfall, merging into another creek.

We come to another bridge. We actually recycled an old cattle chute.

One day we hope to put another bridge here. This part of the creek is usually dry, as the water runs underground in this area, unless there are unusually heavy rains.

Another waterfall, taken from a bit of a distance.

A little way from the above waterfall we find the next waterfall.

We meander down to the red bridge, another recycled bit of steel we used for a bridge.

The creek is much wider at this point.
