Reading or Television?

If given a choice, which would you rather do, read a good book or watch something on television?  I will be the first to admit that I enjoy the mind numbing practice of watching television especially when I am tired or just want to relax. I find time to read as well, but I would say my television hours far outweigh my reading hours. So, tell me which would you rather do ?

I think I will begin to prefer reading. I like watching tv, but we are getting the cable cancelled soon. I can't wait. I think tv prevents me from being productive.

I am guilty of watching too much tv............Actually I would rather read a book ....Since I have gotten on gather though, even reading a book would be interrupting me...HAHA Now it is not the tv or reading............LOL I realize that gather was not a choice but there you have it...haha :O)

I hate reading. The longest I read is a newspaper article. Give me the television any day!

I rarely watch tv. And when I am not on Gather, I have my nose in a book.

TV all the way baby. I always say that I will just waite on the movie to came out. I love sitting back and watching a good show on TV to unwind after a hard days work.. It helps to relax me.

It really depends on my mood. If I want to relax, I'd rather read. If LOST is on, nothing is keeping me away.

I enjoy both. TV is easier when the kids are up or when I want to share an activity with family. Reading is almost a treat for me after everyone is gone to bed or out of the house.

Although I like to read I would pick TV because of it's variety in programming.

Reading - hands down. As far as tv goes, I didn't even have one until I moved in with my current room mate. Even now, it's never on unless we rent a movie. When I "watch" tv with my boyfriend, I am reading a book at the same time (which irritates him no end).
