This advisory is for the north central connecticut counties of hartford, tolland and windham.
Rain tonight will gradually transition to freezing rain just after midnight, possibly glazing much of the area with one quarter inch of ice before changing to sleet by 4 am and to snow between 5 am and 7 am.
Travel will likely be treacherous during the Thursday morning commute, especially higher terrain both to the east and west of hartford and along interstate 84.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible near midnight, with isolated power outages possible either from lightning strikes or glaze taking down a few tree limbs.
Intermittent light snow is anticipated during the Thursday morning daylight hours Thursday with a small accumulation of snow likely.

Good luck and stay safe!
I see a 2 hour delay in the morning for my sons school too because they want the weather to calm down before getting on the bus!
Thanks for the winter advisory. I haven't watched any tv for a few hours.
