As I was courting my wife lo these many years ago, I was a very creative fellow. But now that my marriage is approaching 18 years, we've gotten in to a rhythm of going out to eat and maybe a movie.
Hardly creative.
I'm looking for fun and creative ideas for spouse dates to surprise her. Any good ones out there?

A scavenger hunt...leave her hints about the house...for example..."put on your best dress"....then leave the next in the closet...leading to a romantic dinner at home(pick up takeout if you must, but cooking for her would be better) candlelight, music, dancing...whatever is next is up to you.
We've done museums, the zoo (our zoo does evening functions like Hawaiian Luaus, Beer tasting, etc.), and arcades like Dave and Busters (not very romantic but A LOT of fun!).
We've done picnics...instead of making the food we go to a speciality grocery store (their prepared food section) and get a little of this and a little of that...
We've gone to a downtown area (Ann Arbor, Mi for us) and just walked the streets, browsing and going into all the little store we can't manage with toddlers in tow :)
We did our own movable meal; we picked a spot for predinner drinks and munchies, then another place for dinner, then another place for dessert.
Our dates aren't typically mushy romantic but we always have a lot of fun :)
One more suggestion.... think back to some of those early creative dates and figure out a way to recreate one (or more)

In our stake, Friday night is not allowed activities. It is officially Date night. Every friday night. It has been for the last 5 or 6 years.
We dont spend money on our dates. We spend time. I love spending time with my husband. I am not into candy, flowers or diamonds. I just want a nice night with my husband.
Maybe you could have dinner delivered and just have a nice evening at home.
