I never answer my phone if I do not recognize the number, so you can imagine my surprise when I check the voice mail, and the caller says:
Hi, this is Stevie Wonder
and I am calling to urge you to vote for Barack Obama. . .
(there is a little more of a message, which ends with. . . "Yes, we can!")
After his message, Stevie breaks out into song:
"I just called to say I love you."
Yes, I saved the message!
Well, I love you, too Stevie. Too bad I did not answer the phone.* I would have told you that I have all of your music. I would have thanked you for inviting me to your birthday party some years ago; that was very, very nice of you. Not many Superstars would have done that to someone they never met. . .

*This is a true story. A friend of mine/work associate knew (grew up with) Stevland, and got invited to his birthday party. I wanted to go, but she would not take me -- said that I was NOT invited. I became very annoyed with her. Instead, she told Stevie about my being upset with her for not bringing me. He chastised her, and told her she should have brought me. He told her the next time to bring me along.  Too late; I was very upset with HER I had missed all of the fun. Did she think I would really talk to her, especially when she mentioned the people who had stopped in at the party? NO!

Thank you for the comments and thoughts. I am not so starstruck, except maybe for Denzel Washington. In his case, I think I may become a defensive tackle and overtake him. The second person may be Peyton Manning. I would sack him. But they are big, strong men. I fear for my life. Would I succeed? YES!!! Where there is a will, there is always a way.
Other than that I have met and spoken with celebrity. I think the biggest was that bore, Reggie Jackson, on the phone for over 4 hours, constantly trying to find a way OFF the phone, for he only spoke of himself. NO, NO -- celebrity is not always what it is cracked up to be.
I think we everyday people are far more interesting, don't you?
