That's right, my husband broke the only two snow shovels we had on Friday. He was shoveling snow off the roof and it was just too heavy. So, he sent me on an impossible mission to buy another snow shovel.
We already had over 4' of snow and it's snowing again! It's the worst winter in 20 years for our area in Idaho. So, the chances of finding a snow shovel was slim. But, we needed one so I had to atleast try to find one!
So, while he stayed home and tried to clear off the roof with a broken snow shovel, I headed to town to TRY to find us a new one.
I went to a total of 23 stores and got the same answer at every store... "Sorry, we are all sold out, but are expecting a shipment in a couple days". A few of the stores I went to were Home Depot, Lowe's, Sears, grocery stores, gas stations, ACE hardware and many more!
Or course, we needed a shovel NOW, not in a few days! Same went for everyone else.
Then we got word that a store was getting a shipment in later in the afternoon. Of course, we were one of the first people in line.
The shipment was 300 snow shovels and they were SOLD OUT in less than 20 minutes!

Snow shovels are available everywhere here, even at the grocery store! Its in the 70's and sunny for us, no sign of snow or even winter for that matter.
Want me to ship you some, rent a snow plow, something? lol
If the handle, then it might have been easier to find a replacement for that rather than finding a whole new shovel in the middle of the worst winter in years. ;o)
Hey, I do that all the time!
I routinely buy "a pair and a spare" (i.e. THREE of them!) for whatever I find that I like a lot, or that works well/lasts a long time.
That way I don't have to bother looking for a replacement for awhile. ;o)
(That's me---PRO-active rather than RE-active! *lol*)
People think I'm crazy sometimes and I never have a spare inch of storage space left in the house or the garage! *lol*
But it is nice you found one!
