The Associated Press reported this morning that:
Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.
The dirty little secret is out as to how Senator Clinton plans to pay for her costly socialized health care scheme.
Be prepared to dig deep into your pockets, America. "Health care for all" won't be cheap.
The Democrats have been fond of playing the class warfare card and bandying about the statistic that "47 million Americans are without health care coverage in America."
An inconvenient truth the Democrats conveniently ignore is that many younger workers, who are typically healthier than older workers, choose not to purchase expensive coverage they do not need.
Hillary-care will mandate that health insurance will be purchased, whether you feel as if you need it, or not. What's more, you will not have the choice to pay for only the coverage you are likely to use.
For example, you may not need maternity coverage, if you are a single male, or a single female; you may not wish to purchase coverage for eye exams, or dental coverage.
There are a number of scenarios we could cite whereby consumers make choices with regard to their health care choices. However, the bottom line is a paraphrase of a phrase made popular by conservative economist Milton Friedman:
No one will be "free to choose." Hillary Rodham Clinton will choose for you!
This is the perfect example of a dictatorship, unless language has lost its meaning completely.

Who the heck does she think she is. She has no right to touch my husbands hard earned dollars. There are certian coverages people do not need and now Hitler Hillary will make people pay regardless if the coverage is needed or not. Un freakin believable
now watch how many pinheads chime in and slam me...just watch! lol :)
Health care. Can't wait. My employer will drop me claiming "You have free healthcare now!" and I can start doing my own dentistry like national healthcare victims in the UK do.
She forgets her plan is unconsitutional and erodes freedoms, but then why would Hillary care about freedom?
i salute you, sir.
(1) For his service to this great Republic.
(2) For materially adding to this discussion by posting this little known fact.
"PRESENT ARMS"
thanks for weighing in, austin. good luck! i'll be thinking about you.
I read some stuff on Romney's health plan in Mass. and it seems like it might be a better idea. From what I understand, if you do not have your own healthcare, you have to sign up for the government plan and it is a sliding scale so people who make less, pay less.
I just think that we, as a nation, can have a national dialogue, as Democrats, Republicans, or whatever--and come up with a better solution than the government taking over 1/7th of the United States' economy.
No one can tell me that the very best we can do as a nation, to fix the health care mess---which I'm not convinced there is a "mess," is to turn our country into Canada's system. I've had some experience with that and trust me, we don't want to go there!
Free sounds pretty darn good; until you start getting taxed for it!
Thanks again, Melissa!!!
I was just telling my wife that about 2 hours ago.
Elise get's flowers for channeling "common sense," and for praying for our country.
The healthcare contractor the government chooses will just jack up the prices so much and rip us and the government off it will be insane.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
That is the sound of money flying out of our pockets if Mrs. Clinton gets her way.
***************POINT OF THE DAY ********************************
yup! they squeal like stuck pigs when we try to surveil islamo-nutjobs that love the smell of burning white flesh. but they will sign over every single right they have for "the common good," for every socialist scheme concocted in hillary's sick, pointed head.
go figure!
great job, vickey!!! posts like yours is what makes gather.com so great!!! :)
How does she claim that she has 35 years experience? Does she mean that when she was first lady and Billy boy was governor for what two decades, that she made the decisions, instead of her hubby? She has been a two term NY Senator, correct me if I am wrong here, and her hubby was in the White House for 8 years. I still do not see where she has managed to get all of this experience. If she ran the White House, then her husband needs to give back his pay, maybe, this is how Billy boy found so much time to fool around with all the other woman, he was having affairs with....
My next question is what happened to all the other Democratic candidates who started out in this race? The Republicans dont seem to like to quit, but the Dems. when the heat got hot they all ran away. SO its just Hilly and Obama, but look at the Republicans, we still have Mccain, Romney, Huckebee( or however you spell it) and Ron Paul is still there. This proves a point to me. I guess you might say, that the Republicans dont cut and run. TO bad Hilly, didnt cut and run and change her mind on running for president, she sure changes her mind on issues, when she is called out on them.
#2; a lot more dead wood in the democrat primary process..think about it
biden
dodd
richardson
kucinnich
gravel
all of them are oxygen thieves...not worth $0.35...i'm surprised they got off their front porches, let alone made it as far as iowa. it is a joke!
hope that helps.
we can do better than this.
needs facelift, heart transplant, genital reconstruction surgery, and a whole lot else that won't be covered under her plan.
Rocco the nail has been struck true... and hit home...
Billary should never be allowed in the White House again... ever... after all we did have all the rugs replaced after there last um visit...
things like that...
On the other hand, our health system is in a mess. Rates are so high that only a select few can afford medical care without insurance. If those who can pay for insurance choose not to, who will pay their costs when they need medical attention? The rest of us pay via even higher rates. It's just a mess.
HILARY IS ANTI CHOICE (on health insurance)
to those who say our system is a "MESS," fine...i'll concede that point even though i heartily disagree with you.
so is the ONLY answer a complete government invasion of the health care system? research canada's and englands. folks there hate it. i know about canada; lived there temporarily for four months.
It's been said that those who do have insurance or those who have enough money to pay for their own care are already paying for those who cannot afford care....with the high costs that have to be high because of all of those who frequent the emergency rooms instead of going to a doctor.
Complain about that.
This is what you will get for your vote.
*Compromise on judges: Forget conservatives like Alito and John Roberts
*Higher taxes: McCain is on record as being against the Bush tax cuts.
*HIger taxes on gas/fuel: McCain is on the carbon tax band-wagon of the Al Gore crowd. Expect to see fuel pump and heating oil prices go higher.
*No exploration off the coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico, or in Anwar to the north.
*McCain will compromise on socialized medicine with the Democrat party. He is much more comfortable with that side of the aisle than he is with conservatives.
Any more ideas, Gather.ccom Conservatives?
Do you know why John McCains arms and shoulders are so stiff? It is from all that reaching he has done "across the aisle" to compromise with liberals and Democrats.
McCain? Not so much. I am voting for the Libertarian candidate. Never for the Democrat or John McCain. He can go to hell.
Mark my words.
snark on!
I voted for GWB twice; I don't think he is "stupid," the way liberas and "Saturday Night Live" portrays him; I do think he is historically mispositioned on a score of issues that will doom his legacy. Perhaps I will write a separate post on that, but for now, this is on health care proposals that are Stalinist.
Christoper: We have one, as a family of four, as an adjunct to our regular coverage. This is used to pay for eye glasses, teeth cleanings, deductables, prescriptions. I love the idea!
My point is this: Let's have a conversation about this, America, but let's come up with OTHER ideas besides on that would have us aping Canada/Cuba/Soviet Union/Great Britain.
Their health care systems stink on ice.
How many new government employees is it going to take to administer this program?
What happens when employers drop health benefits like a hot rock to be more cost "competitive" since the government offers it? That 47mil number will climb to 300mil?
What makes people think the government can do a good job? All I ever read is how bad they are at the VA, Social Security, Medicare, even the mail, etc. etc.
What is the rough guess on monthly charges to my check?
Too many questions for me.... Kind of scary... now garnishes, sheesh!
I'm not sure I'm digging all this talk...
Excellent point! Welcome to my group of Gather.com friends. I'm proud to have you!
