Promise of the Witch King is the second book in R.A. Salvatore's Sellswords trilogy. It continues the ongoing adventures of the dark elf Jarlaxle and his human friend Artemis Entreri. These two characters had previously played villains versus Drizzt Do'Urden in some of Salvatore's early novels from this series. This is a very action-packed story that is full of magic and swordplay, though at the expense of character development. As the middle part of a trilogy, it doesn't do all that much to move the story along, but it's still a fun read.
