I am completely confused as to WHY my article asking for advice and information from my fellow Gather friends has been reported as SPAM! Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me?????
I know that I sent the link to the people in my address book, but I get dozens of the mass emails everytime I log on to Gather...so I do not understand why mine would be one to get flagged for that!!!!!!!!!!!
AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?????????
Here is the link to the article in question:

I just came here because I saw your article asking why someone would flag this, and the only thing I can think of would be because you sent out a mass mail asking people to come look at it. Sending mass mails is not against the terms of service though, so to me it looks like someone did this because they are not aware of the rules here.
Some people don't like mass mails, especially if they are sent out multiple times a day for every single item you post, but that is not grounds to flag someone. Just because someone doesn't like it, doesn't mean that it's breaking the rules.
I'm sorry this happened to you, but I'm sure when Gather reviews this they'll see that it is not spam and they will lift the flag. No worries!

If you get an article flagged, and you know full well that it doesn't deserve it, one way to handle it is to write a second article that has a pointer link to the first article, explaining that you're posting this pointer article specifically to direct people to the other article because it's been wrongfully flagged and therefore isn't appearing in group lists. (Of course, you should still write to support@gather.com with the link to the flagged article and request that they unflag it.)
I occasionally get articles flagged for no particularly good reason, and I generally solve it by posting a 'pointer' article to direct people to it. Gather's pretty good at unflagging articles within a couple of days, and links to the article still work even if the article's been flagged, so this generally helps give the article the exposure it deserves without letting the drive-by flagcarriers disrupt it too greatly.
I am sorry that it happened though.
At least I have you wonderful friends to cheer me up.
Austin, I like that advice. I think I will update this article right now with the link. Hopefully it will get cleared up soon. This is just crazy.
Like I said before...I get tons of mass emails all the time. I never flag any of them, and I have never noticed that any of those have been flagged when I visit them.
Oh well, who knows! Hopefully whoever it was is having a better day at my expense!
No John, that was my very first mass email. I guess it just went out to the wrong person or something.
Good luck.
so whomever flagged it was in the wrong and the Gather team released it.
Tabitha, I think that maybe the 20lbs is probably a bit much for you to haul around, but how can you not hold such an adorable baby! hehe! Good luck and I sure hope you feel better!
