Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today, which means six more weeks of winter.
This fun tradition known as Groundhog Day, brings thousands of people to the small Pennsylvania town of Punxsutawney, every February, 2nd.
Based on a German superstition, if a hibernating animal sees a shadow on this day, winter will last another six weeks.
If no shadow is seen, legend says spring will come early.
I live in New Hampshire.
I can't take it anymore!

At approximately 7:00 AM EST this morning... the world discovered Punxsutawney Phil's weather prediction for 2008! He saw his shadow - predicting six more weeks of winter!!!
We already have over 4' of snow, I don't think we can handle much more! LOL!
Regards,
Bill Murray
Thanks for the report! Now maybe we'll get some snow on this side of the river! One can hope.
the local groundhog (Chuckles) didn't see his shadow. In my opinion, Phil's prediction overrides all others. :-) I grew up in Punxsutawney after all.
~Kellie, ducking and running to avoid the onslaugh of snowballs!
Well if he were here he'd not have seen his shadow. It's been days since I've seen the sun.
There will be some warmer days and some colder days, some wet days and some dry days, and then the spring flowers will start to bloom. Hang in there.
It's now about 23 hours later............and it's storming, cold, and wet. Is this the indication that Phil was right and we're in six more weeks of more soggy, icey, windy, cold weather? Darn!
I became a boid, and traveled south in the winter...
