"If she'd got herself with kid
By any other feller than that there Brodskyn,
I'd a tanned her hide
The colour of the setting sun,"
Magdalene Mogfish's daddy said,
Looking out at the evening sky,
Tut-tut ting to his wife,
Spitting out a gob of bacca,
Sighing as deep as the Minnesota horizon.
"But as it's him and his daddy's
Got more money than his wife's got hair,
I'll just poke her belly and say
You take care of that young feller,
Cos he's your meal ticket outta here."
And taking a deep breath,
Patting his wife's wide behind
He walked off the front porch
To kick his heels 'til God knows when.
