I reached my first goal on Boomertowne!

For those of you who haven't discovered Boomertowne yet, it's a website similar to Gather. You earn points by viewing information on the website, watching videos, connecting with others and sending messages to people.

I joined this website about 3 weeks ago and have just earned my first goal, a $50 visa gift card. As a stay at home mom, I like to earn money online through various points earning program and by completing surveys when I have time to be online. This one is new to me and I like it a lot so far.

Are any of you with Boomertowne?
If so, have you reached any goals there yet?
How do you like this website and how do you spend most of your time there?

Thanks, Renee. I am able to reach the daily 1000 points in about 20 minutes, so I just go ahead and get that done and then piddle around there for awhile longer sending messages to friends and stuff. There is some interesting information there and it's worth spending 20 minutes a day to get $50 every 3 weeks, I think!

That's 7 hours of work total for $50, so you're making $7.15 an hour. :o)

You can also have up to 4 accounts per mailing address, as long as those are REAL people.

Congrats Faith!! I cashed out for a $25 target gift card on boomertowne a little over a week ago. My hubby just joined there as well. I think we'll be saving up for the Visa cards instead of the target ones from now on....that way we can use them anywhere. And, it will especially come in handy since we need to replace our TV that is slowly but surely dying!

I just passed the amount needed for a $75 Visa card but I am hoarding my points. Did you read in the BT voice about the new prizes they might be adding? This is from there.... " I know you've been anxious to see the new catalog of prizes. It is almost complete. It is important to us to get commitments from suppliers that they will ship prizes promptly and not be on backorder all the time. We are adding cameras, Xboxes, Wii, televisions, and numerous other electronic devices."

I am wondering the same thing as Jill, if they'll be increasing the amount of points it takes to redeem items. That is why I decided to cash out now instead of trying to hoard them. Are you talking about the citizenship status where if you earn a certain amount of points then you'll receive points at a faster rate? If so... then it doesn't matter if you cash out, they keep track of your accumulative points - so I think that's great. I can't wait until I'm at a higher status.

Maybe they'll even lower the amount of points you can earn in a day? Ick, I don't think I'd care for any of these changes.

Brenda - I know, huh? I've wondered how long this website will be in business especially with this recent rash of Gather members joining up. I HOPE they don't make any changes like that, but I guess if you have more than one person in your household participating (my husband is there too), then you have more chances to earn points.

Do you participate in any other online programs like Gather or Boomertowne? I tried Mylot and was never able to get into it, same thing with Yuwie.

I JUST signed up though for triond.com and it looks pretty interesting so far.

That's what I thought, Brenda, it's neat that they give you an incentive for staying with Boomertowne. I like that you receive extra goodies after you've received certain amounts of points. I plan on staying with BT for a long time!

I just recently found out about the benefits. I was wandering around reading things when I came across it. I was thrilled. LOL. I hope they stick around for awhile. My boyfriend is there too. I told him to request friends with everyone on my list, so you probably have seen him. He goes by wolff8u2 and his icon is a wolf howling at the moon. Its blue, I think. LOL. I was at Mylot before I came here. I left there for here. Its too hard to earn anything there plus they are very fussy about what you post. No jokes,recipes or games, etc.

Hi all - since some of you have asked how I'm able to earn points so quickly there, this is what I do:

First I accept any connection requests waiting for me

Then I search the profiles and select a state, then connect to anyone who I'm not already connected with

Then if I'm tired of doing that, I send messages to either the people who have sent me messages or just anyone on my friends list OR I go to the videos by celebrity and click on all of those. With the videos, you don't even need to click on the play button to receive your points!

I am able to get all 1000 points in about 20 minutes, I promise!

Alena - yup, I like it too. Extra cash is always a good thing.

Matine - way to go on those points, I bet you that you'll be able to get it down to 20 minutes. I haven't been able to do it any faster than that though. I've usually got my 1.5 year old hanging off me the entire time though, ha!

Congrats! I currently have enought points to get a $75 visa giftcard. But I thought I might hold on to them becasuse in the new catalog there is suppose to be a wii. And I am planning on see how many points it will be. I want a wii sooo bad I can taste it. We cashed out for a $25 target card on my husbands account. He currently has enough points to get a $50 visa. I thing we will cashout for it today. I plan on saving my giftcards to take with me on my beach trip this summer.

I'm loving BT as well. I just got my first 25 dollar Target card yesterday. I redeemed for it on the 12th. I sure hope they don't change the point amounts needed to get the prizes.

I ordered my first $50 card yesterday. I can get it done in about 30 minutes now, if I don't stop and read the news too long. The first thing I do is send every friend a message...I end up getting my first 600 points doing that.

Congrats Faith - I've only been on about 12 or 13 days ... so as of today I have 12526 pts. I usually play the sudoku and the puzzle and send some messages to friends. It is a very easy way to earn points and I enjoy the puzzles. My husband joined a couple of days ago... he is still trying to connect to people and figure it all out ;) you know men! So He says he has 3006 points after 3 days.

I agree with you - it does not take hardly any time to earn the 1000 points - only wish we could earn more per day and they had more puzzles! It is a nice break for me when I need to just relax.

I have been enjoying BT. It doesn't take long to get enough points for a gift card. I already have one on the way! I like your tip about the videos. I thought you had to watch them. I still think that the atmosphere on Gather is more friendly. I just wish the points added up more quickly here like BT.

I'll be shocked if they manage to stay afloat in their current incarnation for too much longer. My guess is that sometime soon, they'll make it harder to get points.
