Name Game: What is the most unusual word that is a normal part of your vocabulary?

I have always been something of a "wordsmith." I enjoy a good turn-of-the-phrase, a unique way of saying something, and learning new words.


Suffice to say, it drives my equally as educated wife stark-raving-mad!

Notwithstanding, I have accumulated quite a store of unique words I like to employ, whether in speaking or in writing, whenever I feel like showing others just how damn educated and well rounded I am!

Question: What is the most unique word that is a normal part of your everyday vocabulary? (Slang does not count).

Treat us with an example of how us typically us the word of your choice!

I use the word perspicacity, or perspicacious, which means "keenness of mental perception and understanding; discernment; penetration"

I use this to describe my daughter, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, but not Juan McCain or Hillary, as well as most people I know because the "masses are asses," i,e dullards.

I used to use "big words" then I had kids :)
I'm with Denise....Before kids I actually talked more like I had a brain. Now I am more like a zombie with my highlighted word being Arggghhhh.....

i had this kid in art school tell me he could only understand a fifth of what i was saying based on the unusually large words that i kept using.

which naturally only made me want to expound on them further.

lol too classic, cc...the dumbing down of america.

when i was in 5th grade, back when the dinosaurs were shi**ing on the earth, our teachers hauled us up to their level, if need be, kicking and screaming. that is how i got to be so gosh darn smart. :)

I may be leftist. I may be crazy. I may even be a DemoRat, whatever the hell that means. But I do know how to use a dictionary, and I feel it's my responsibility to let Carol L. know that "Americanism" ISN'T A WORD!!!!

However, "pinhead" is a perfectly fine word, and I have just the sentence in mind in which it might work!

albatross - I know what an albatross is, but we often use it in the wrong context such as; Your albatross shoes are in my way! lol I don't know why we do that. Yes I do. Because we are irrespective. lol

Trying to think, it's hard right now, lol! Well sometimes I phrase I use is "don't you know it's rude to talk with your head up your *ss?" Pinhead pencil neck. I can't remember now but when I'm in a goofy mood, I manage to make up all kinds of words. I call my dogs four legged hair vultures. Well anyways, lol! I was trying to leave some kind of a comment! :)
