Okay, so now we've got the "Oceanic 6," which Hurley was babbling about when he got arrested in the latest flash forward.
So who are they?
Based on what we've seen so far, I know that Jack, Kate, and Hurley are three of the six. After watching the season finale, I assumed that Locke and Sawyer also left the island. This was my guess based on the scene in the funeral home and something Kate said.
In the funeral home, Jack was asked if he was a friend or family of the deceased. He said neither. The funeral director said that Jack was the only one to show up to the funeral. This made me think it was Locke, because he had no real friends or family left in the "real" world, so it's plausible that no one would show up to his funeral. However, after the season premier last night, I'm not sure Locke would ever leave the island.
In the season finale, Kate said something along the lines of "I have to get back. He'll wonder where I am." I first assumed that she was talking about Sawyer. However, after the season premier last night, I'm not so sure about that. Perhaps she was referring to her husband (played by Nathan Fillion in season 3 episode "I Do"). Or who knows who it was... Kate does seem to go through men quickly... :)
Anyone else have any good theories on the remaining 3 of the Oceanic 6?

Jack, Kate, Hurley, Claire, Aaron, and Sawyer.
If you look at the area the funeral home was in, that's Sawyer's kind of atmosphere...not Locke's. And the obituary was not very long. If it was the name of one of the Oceanic 6 "celebrities" you would think there would have been a bigger write up on them. But Sawyer changes his name as a con. And he had no real friends or family. I'm guessing something happened on the island where screws up any relationship he had with anyone. So he changes his name once he gets back, but Kate and Jack know it's him.
Now back to the other 2...Claire and Aaron. Charlie comes back to Hurley and says "They need you." I think "they" are Claire and Aaron. Hurley was the one who told her about Charlie because they both had a strong connection to him. Hurley, Claire, and Aaron go together with Locke's group. I think Hurley and Claire will become very close now and he will take over as the "manly" care giver for Aaron. Not that him and Claire will fall in love or anything, just get very close to the point where they really need each other in their lives.
By the way...did you notice that last night's flip forward came before Jack's flash forward in real time? Jack said he was thinking about growing a beard and at that point he didn't believe they needed to go back either. He thought Hurley was going to "tell". In Jack's flash forward he told Kate he was "sick of lying." Hmmmm....:-) I'm going to be SO mad if the writers don't get back to work soon!
I read on another site a theory that the "Oceanic 6" only refers to 6 American survivors of the crash... in which case, that opens the possibility that non-Americans also survived and came back, but that the "6" doesn't include them. In that case, Claire's an Aussie, so she may not count (and, in theory, Aaron is also not American).
I've also seen some close-ups of the part of the obit article that you can see in the show, and the name doesn't seem to correspond to any of the characters currently... it's been stated that it's not a new character, and also that the obit says something about a teenaged son... sounds like Michael to me...
