There seems to be a growing trend online around a new work at home or make money online program calling iteself "rebate processor jobs". On sites like Yahoo Answers and Wiki Answers there are a lot of people asking questions exactly what this "job" is, is it legit and is it right for you. This article will make an attemt at answering those questions.
When it comes to rebate processor jobs the basic concept they pay you to do what the title suggests - process rebates. In theory it sounds great, you simply process rebates at home and earn $15.00 for each one that you complete. Although this does sound interesting it is not the complete picture.
If you go to the website of one of these new companies they make it seem like all you are doing is filling out forms when people ask for a refund. Once the refund is done they will send you a payment of around $15. This is not quite how it works.
The reality is rebate processing is actually affiliate work. Companies like RebateProcessorJobs.com are not hiring you to work for them and then paying you by the piece. Instead they teach you how to find products that you can sell online and earn a commission from the sale. Often these are products found on affiliate sites like Clickbank or CommissionJunction.com. They then teach you how to write ads to sell these products. Included in your ad is an offer for a "rebate" when someone buys the product. Usually the rebate is for about 15% of the price of the product (usually $8 on a $49 product). When that product sells you usually receive a $23 commission minus the $8 rebate you offer making you $15.
So in summary the rebate pocessor jobs are not really what they say they are. They are not simply a job where you fill out rebate request forms and get paid per form you fill out. But, they are a creative twist on affiliate marketing which is a popular way to make money online. Often these affiliate products have many affiliates selling them so a creative ad like "I'll give you $8 to buy this product" will cut through the clutter.
The training companies like RebateProcessorJobs.com provide is good if you have no experience selling or making money online. The members website is solid and it posts many great free sites that allow you to post your ads for free - so you can make money with this program by not spending anything more than the small one time fee for access to the training and members area. For those that have a mid level of experience online there is no need for you to join these programs, as there is not much new information.
Rebate Processing jobs are a legitimate method to make money online - it is unfortunate that the advertising they use to promote the program is not 100% honest on how the program works, but I guess that is the nature of advertising, often the truth is stretched to get out attention and motivate us to take action.

My sister paid $800 for a work at home medical transcription job with software. She got the software and some encouraging words about starting her own business, recruiting clients, etc., She applied for the guarenteed refund and of course, the phone was disconnected and the company non-existant.
Can you give me a good advise?

jobs.
This is a fantastic piece of information. I mean, I was almost tempted to opt for this revenue model but I am a bit apprehensive about it now. Well thanks to you. I think CJ would be a better option isn't it?
Anyway Thanks Mate

Now you got me side tracked..
I do believe that I have just solved the problem of finding work from home.. Frequently when I visit websites I will notice that some where stuck off on the side that there are job opportunities listed.. I have never investigated them, but believe I will from now on..
You know websites like colleges, even Google, the FBI, different city websites, insurance companies. I am sure there are jobs out there.. but forget those survey jobs.. they ask the same questions over and over and over and if you don't buy something they just keep asking the same question. I had time to kill one day and went 4 hours!! Never got anywhere because I didn't buy anything. If I had the money to buy I wouldn't be answering questions on surveys, that's for sure. Then I had to change my email address.. got so much spam.
buy the products?
