My kitten... Pirate Pete... :(

More bad news. Seems to be an abundance of that the past week.

Yesterday my kitten, Pirate Pete died.

He got up under my car (engine) and I didn't know it. As I began driving down the road I heard a thud, I looked back at the road and there was Pete. :(

He was not bleeding, he was not moving, but he was breathing. We rushed him to the vet 5 minutes from our house. They thought they could save him, they were wrong. He held on for about 6 hours and tried to fight it. I guess the internal injuries were worse than what we could see on the xrays. He passed on around 8:30 last night. (Last week Wednesday night my friend died in the car accident, this week it was my kitten... I am beginning to think Wednesdays are cursed for me.)

Pete was the BEST cat I have every owned in my 40 years of life!!!

I've never had such a loveable, well behaved cat. Not to mention, he was just the prettiest thing!!!

OH, how sad Alie, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how upset you must be, we lost two cats a couple of years ago and it is devastating.

aww, i am feeling for you, Alie.My cats are my FAMILY!! We learned at an early age to knock on the hood of cars before driving in cold weather......cats get up in there to stay warm. i hope you get to the place where you can remember the fun times with your friend, pirate pete....and his life, tho short, was happy because he had YOU *HUG*

I have had cats get up in the engine too. fall out and get ran over. Really breaks your heart when that happens. Use to beat on the hood of the car when I was going some where to scare the cats out. All our cat stay in the house.. Have never been out side alone. Welll Mama cat was and outside cat. She never tried to get outside though. Sorry about your loss of Pirate Pete..

Alie, I am sooooo sorry to hear about both your friend and the kitty. My heart is breaking for you!! When I was a kid and we didn't have a garage or barn for our outdoor cats they would crawl onto the engine block of the car too. It's a very tragic ending for a cat.

I'm sorry about that. It's a common thing that cats do (climbing onto car engines for a nap), and frequently it kills or maims them...
