Hello to all my fellow Points & Prizes members and fans. This article is just a continuation of 6 others that I've posted here on Gather already.

Here is the 6th article: Points & Prizes article & discussion: January 2008
I'm posting this new one just so it will load faster than the other ones. I appreciate all of the points words you all have been contributing, it's been GREAT.
For those of you who are just coming across this article and have no idea what I'm talking about, then I'll give a quick explanation. I'm talking about a website called "Points & Prizes".
It's FREE, of course, I would never spend time on any points or survey program that I have to pay for. I am a stay at home mom and like to find fun things to do online to earn a few extra bucks, gift cards, and ways to save money in general.
Please click here --> www.pointsandprizes.com <-- to find out more about this website.
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****I copied the statement below directly from the website:
Join for free, earn points on our partner sites, then use your points to raidour prize box for things like movie and TV show DVDs, CDs, clothes, gift cards, books, calendars, planners, beauty products, magazines andall sorts of other cool stuff! And the more you play, the more points you will earn -- and the more prizes you can get.
We have nestled point codes into our partner web sites in many different places. Here are examples of just some of the ways you might earn points:
- Spot a Points & Prizes bonus code ad banner on one of our partner sites
- Sign up for email newsletters on one of our partner sites and look for point codes in their newsletters
- Locate a point code on one of our partner web sites (could be in an advertisement, hidden in the text of an article, etc.)
- Join in on a message board discussion and discover points posted by our P&P Coordinator
- Enter a contest
- Tell a friend about this site
- Pick up a point code in one of our partner print magazines
- Search the comments on SheKnows Photo Zone for hidden Point Words
...and there are many more ways to win! (But do note that not all ofthese actions will earn you points, we and our partner sites will let you know some specific ways to win. That said, sometimes there will be surprises and bonus point codes made available!)
Just take the point word you get from this or one of our partner sites, and enter it into the box on the "claim a word" page. If the word is right, your account will be credited with points! Point words have varying values --some are worth a little, others are worth a lot.
Our prizebox is our virtual store -- but instead of money, you use the freepoints you have earned to purchase items! At the end of each description in the prize box, you will see how many points are needed to buy that item. Items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Point prices include shipping within the US (including AFO/FPO) and Canada.

Please click here --> www.pointsandprizes.com <-- to visit the website and post your point words here. Thanks!

As for the newsletters, I know I signed up for them all but I'm not receiving them all - or if I do get them, its 2 days later than everyone else. That's part of the reason I like to know where the words are coming from - a hunt or links from the newsletters.

To fix the problem, locate the part of the url with your email address. There should
be something like this: email=susan%40yahoo.com
Change the %40 to @ so it will instead read email=susan@yahoo.com
Hope this works for you.

Nicole, you need to register separately for points and prizes and Sheknows contest.
But I believe it is the same registration for the contest and the Sheknows message boards. So if you already registered for the Sheknows message boards, you should be able to log in.
Use the same email address to register so it can credit your points and prizes account.
Below is the page to register for the Sheknows.com contest. You must register if you want to vote in the contest or to enter the contest.
http://www.sheknows.com/contests/index.php?view=signup&
After you register, they will send you an activation email. When you click on url in the email it gives an error message. In order to activate your account, you must change
the url so that your email address has a @ in it instead of %40
Then you can vote in the Cutest Couple contest or other future contests. You get points for entering and for voting. You can vote 10 times per day.
Hope this was clear. Good luck!

Wanda; when it says that you have to te be logged in to vote for the contests; that sentence has the link to log-in right in it. I can't remember the exact wording of the sentence; but, one of those words takes you to the log-in page.
Just to clarify: You get 50 points per vote, not 50 per day, so a potential of 500 points/day since you can vote 10 times a day.
You get only one sweepstakes entry per day though.

Pressing the red 'Vote' button is not enough to vote. After the red vote button you will be taken to the person's entry, then you must hit 'vote' again. You should be taken to a page
that says that your vote was recorded. Then if you want to vote for that same person again, you click on go back to entry and hit vote again. You can do this 10 times or you can spread your votes to multiple entries.
The number of entries updates immediately, so you should then see a change.
Hope this helps.
Susan :)

I'm also in the contest as well, thank you if you voted for me. Either way we're all benefiting from it, really. I vote for others cause I think it's more fair. I don't know how the people at the top got that many votes..
