Democratic Debate Party in Hollywood, CA

I'm here from Cinespace for a second night of presidential debates. This time it's the democrats: Clinton v. Obama (without John Edwards, who dropped out of the race yesterday). I'm predicting a more intense debate than last night as these two go head to head.

Our doors at Cinespace are opening at 4:30pm, and there's already a long line formed outside. I spoke with the people in line and asked them what they were more stressed about: the war, the environment, the economy, or just America in general. The majority was stressed about the future of America in general, followed by the environment.

I, for one, am stressed about all of the above. I'm stressed about the economy because I'd love to go abroad without paying an extra $.50 for every dollar, and I'm nervous about the interest rates because I need to start paying off my college loans. I'm stressed about the environment because global warming is melting the ice caps at such an alarming rate that NYC could literally be under water in the next 200 years (I've also read 100 years, that's scary). And I'm stressed about the war because I have a friend from high school who's fighting in Iraq right now, and I want him to come home.

So let's see whether Clinton or Obama will prove to be the better candidate after tonight's debate by thoroughly addressing ALL of these issues!

yay I am here at Cinespace. The question begs to be asked what is John Edwards up to?? I have a feeling that he is going for the VP. Obama and Clinton will both need a white man on the ticket to take the presidency especially in the bible belt and southern states. I think Edwards is a great canidate what do you think?

Clinton just mentioned John Edwards. I think that if Clinton gets the nod that she will take Edwards as her running mate.

I'm at Cinespace watching the debates with hundreds of people - there's standing room only. It seems like they are mentioning john edwards alot - mmmm trying to get his endorsement before tuesday?????

Yeah, I've been typing away over here near the front of the room, and I just turned around to see tons of people standing behind me, it's so crowded! I love the energy in this room as we listen to our candidates!

CNN has it, that's what we're watching here in Cinespace. I'm not sure if the networks are airing the debate... they should be!

its on CNN right now if you don't have cable you can stream it live with pc off CNN.com
I know if your mac you can stream audio at CNN as well hope that helps

Clinton is giving it to Obama on the Immigration issues. I think that there is not a lot of difference in their immigration ideas. Honestly the only difference I am seeing right now in health care whether its mandatory or not.

Global warming....... It used to be the ozone layer until science proved the "scientists" wrong. I am one arctic blast away from finding Al Gore and slapping the taste out of his mouth.

I understand the whole being more experienced thing however I have to wonder if that makes you stuck in a rut. Are we voting for Hilary or for Bill? Or is a vote for one a vote for both? I like the fact Obama is fresh blood he brings a new perspective. Also he engages the young crowd which is a first since the 70's. There are been record turn outs for voters between the ages of 18-25 I think its great that the new generation is becoming more involved

Perhaps global warming can be chalked up to part of the earths cycle but that doesn't discount the fact that we are polluting the environment and the fact of the matter is that we need to be more continence about what we do if we want to continue to survive on our current food staples. We destroy hundreds of thousands of square miles of ocean habitat every year something like 5 or 6 times as much ocean habitat as rain forest habitat. Needless to say if we want future generations to enjoy seafood we need to protect the environment in order to insure that

I really feel that Clinton is the better orator. However I like Obama's stances on the war and healthcare. And I love the catty ness that is going on its like a high school locker room

April I agree with you. Too much time, money, and research is devoted to convince people in the theory of global warming. Yes most people don't realise it but it is still just a theory. You pointed out real problems that CAN be addressed. I am impressed with your objectivity.

I like Obama but he seems to struggle articulating his views and responses when challenged. Hillary, as much as I loath her, is in a whole nother class than him. He is winning in substance but not in style. Unfortunately for him we live in a hopelessly superficial country.

I think Hillary needs to shorten her answers - just as in writing - you say what you have to say - get to the point and don't use the same word more than once. Diplomatic is a good word used once...it's so obvious that Senator Obama is the better speaker. Salud.

Obama doesn't measure up when it comes to speaking to large crowds however I think its important to have a sincere candidate who can relate to people across the county. He is great with people in smaller meetings and I think have the ability to be personable at a smaller level is far more important especially when it comes to international politics. Which I think is the biggest thing for me. We are a global economy and that needs to be taken more seriously. I think we need a president that can balance being a world leader and not stepping on everyones toes. We don't need the world hating us. Its bad for business and moral.

I just finished watching the debate on CNN TV. Interesting. I'm an Obama supporter but Clinton is slick.
Sounds like it was fun to watch with the excitementof the crowd.

I think that people are seeing the same tired old tactics being used in these debates. Because one of the candidates is a woman - the give and take of it all is considered catty and nasty. The truth is - they are mild compared to the Reagan/Carter debates or the Reagan/Mondale debates. They aren't really all that different. The difference seems to be who you believe is the brightest and most energetic. Clinton is more pragmatic while Obama is more idealistic. It was an interesting debate.

Hillary Clinton is more than just a cutie! She's very very cunning , full of guile.... a certain poisonous poise..... and the perfect gal for a country as tough and strong as the U . S of A. I must assert that her first lady experience is vital, an absolutely irreplaceable facet or part of a precision based an invention and design . A woman taking the presidency is an aweworthy an expectation and that title as with the enormous array of skills, capabilities, and experiences she has ... not to neglect her team gives her that chance of succeeding in such a difficult an undertaking.
