i love when i go down to the shore &get salt water taffy.. we usually get ours from shrivers in OCNJ.. yummmy! haha.. &pork rolll is sooo good.. & scrapple !! now i'm hungry for a good breakfast.. instead of what i had.. haha

You've forgotten all the seafood! Look at the size of coastline! And nowhere in NJ are you more than 1/2 hour away from the Atlantic!

And the Jersey peaches. Jersey corn. Jersey tomatoes. Don't you know that NJ is the largest producer of cranberries in the US?

I lived in the Ramapo/Skyline Mountains just across the Hudson from NYC as a child; my youngest brother was born there.

Yes, you can't forget about M&M's. The factory is not far from here in Hackettstown. How about eggplant, cranberries, blueberries, all grown here in NJ along with corn. We have some wonderful apples grown here in Warren County too.

We used to go buy large sacks of onions and potatoes from the farms in northern NJ. too. Jersey Tomatos are the best! I spent most of my childhood in New Jersey. The saltwater taffy made down at the shore was the best! BTW one of my friends fathers was the man who developed the coating for M&M's when he worked for Mars Candy. (She was much older than me) Jersey corn was always a treat too. I always thought growing up in New Jersey was the best with Pa and NYC right next door, the mountains up North and the shoreline...what more could you want...lakes, farms, skiing, oceans, beaches... But for me the best was having a Grandfather that ran a Borden's Ice cream plant for the tri state area...

Was talking to a friend I grew up with and he reminded me of something I hadn't heard of anywhere else but where we were when we were younger, in Jersey...

Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwhich.

I've lived in Jersey, Arizona, and Nevada, done a bit of traveling, yet never seen that anywhere but in Jersey.

However, no one yet has been able to tell me what a Taylor ham is.
