"Nice Guys" and Politics

The problem with politics, at least in this country, is not so much that "Nice guys finish last" as it is that "Nice guys seldom even get into the race." Wouldn't it be nice, just once, not to have to choose the 'lesser of two evils'?

It is hard to be a nice politician and one that doesn't owe so many favors they cannot work for the people.
