If only she'd been
More thoughtful
And not expected him
To see things her way;
Not laboured
From dawn to sun up,
Not sweated over
His darn washing,
His lousy lies,
His sideswipes,
His sly kicks and thumps,
His cold words
Wrapped in sarcasm,
But have sat and gazed
At the sunrise
With that, thank God
Look in her eyes.
