He wasn't at all proud of the idea at first but treats did a great job of coaxing him to follow Deb.

By the time he reached the end of the driveway he was beginning to get intrigued by this latest turn of events.

Puppy curiousity took over and he decided to lead the way.

He was allowed to explore a little before the serious training part started.

When Deb stopped, he was instructed to sit and very quickly received a treat.

Then he was encouraged to stay by her side. Once again this was rewarded with a treat.

Being that Bogie is a little puppy genius, he quickly picked up on the sit when stopped routine.

Staying by Deb's side will take quite a bit more work. He is a puppy after all and there are all sorts of interesting things to explore.

He did tire quickly and toward the end of our "around the block" stroll he just plopped down on Deb's foot to rest.

Of course, this grand adventure was followed by a good long nap - Bogie style.

Bogie has become such a part of all our lives that it seems he's been here for quite some time. Reality is, the little guy is only 10 weeks old and still very much a baby.

Bogie is a lovely dog and looks as if he's going to be a well mannered one as well.
Thanks for all the wonderful pictures...of course him sleeping is my fav..but all the others are a close 2nd.
When you said he was going to nap Bogie style, I knew exactly what to expect.
It's so fun to watch his progress. Very nice photo essay! His baby picture is so cute!
I removed it because of the animation included in the comment.
Katrina - he is a smart little guy and treats definitely bring that out in him :-)
Roy - he does try to use those cute puppy eyes to his advantage.
Thanks Jennifer - I really like that photo as well.
John - so he is an ambassador for the species? Cool.
Beryl - how delightful to see you here. Thanks for checking out the rest of these installments. It is a whole lot of fun (and hard work) to have a pup around.
Thanks Nana - he is doing well.
Bob - you should see the hurt look he gets in his eyes if he's ever scolded - he knows how to work it.
flit - he does sleep in the oddest positions sometimes.
Katherine - yes, we are working now on making sure he is well mannered as he will be a big guy when he is an adult.
Faith - sometimes I look at him and wonder how he is managing all that growing. He goes through these spurts that seem to happen overnight.
Vicky - yeah - that's a "melt your heart" face, isn't it?
Lynn - once he realized sitting brought a treat he was all about getting that one right.
Liz - he can be well behaved but he is a pup after all. Recently he found some paper towels a cat had knocked off the counter. I probably should have taken a photo of the results of that just to give a balanced view of Bogie. He had shredded paper all over the place.
Verie - I am so pleased you are enjoying these - yes, his dogonality is emerging more and more each day.
Ina - it is fun that he's gathered a bit of a fan base here - definitely motivates me to put up one of these weekly. It is a neat way to track his progress since they grow so incredibly fast.
Thanks Sue and Lisa.
Holly - he has almost gotten too big for the pillow he's been using - we'll have to come up with something else soon and then I'm sure there will be lots more interesting sleep positions.
Tory - he seems to take new experiences well which bodes well for his temperament.
Beverly - thanks for stopping by - sorry I had to remove the comment but the animation of the snow falling was a bit too intense.
Christine - thanks - always a pleasure to have you drop by.
OMG! I am pulled between knowing he is still a puppy and seeing what a big boy he has become. I remember when he was barely two handsful. So, while giving full credit for our Bogie still being a 10 week old puppy, I have to say with a big smile on my face, whaat a big boy Bogie is!
I am very envious of your experience and progress in puppy training. I missed all these puppy opportunities with Junebug because she was so sick during pretty much all of her puppyhood. So Bogie will be the perfect gentleman because of your loving, helping hand.
Love it!
(we got another puppy this weekend, we're back up to 8 dogs again)
If you ever get tired of him.... Well, you know I'd be more than happy to....
Yeah, that's what I thought you'd say. *lol*
Great pics, Tonia!!
