Times are hard for just about everyone these days. There is much speculation about the growing concern that the US is in a recession. What does that mean to you and me? It means we need to start preparing now. Many people think they cannot do anything about it. It either happens or it don't. I beg to disagree. I think there are things we can do to make recession or even depression more comfortable for our families.
I have two groups that I think could be of value to each of us. The first group is Be Prepared. This group is for self Reliance, 72 hour kits, sharing preparedness and food storage for natural or man made disasters. Group Tags: protection, storing, emergency, food, be prepared, food storage, 72 hour kit, preparedness
A Place to discuss and share info on self reliance, preparedness, food storage, 72 Hour Kits. Anything that helps us to take care of ourselves and families in time of natural or man-made disasters.
This group is specifically designed for the members to share their knowledge and learn from others. Being prepared is one way that we can make a recession more comfortable for our families. We need to prepare now. If we keep putting it off, it will be too late.
The second group is called CVS RiteAid and More.
CVS, riteaid, walgreen and other stores that have cards for discounts or freebies. Group Tags: cvs, freebies, deals, discussion, frugal, shopping, riteaid
This group is for all those who want to know more and share about the deals at CVS, Riteaid, Walgreen and other programs. Come check out the current deals, updated on a regular basis. If you are into this kind of shopping, this is the place for you.
It is not for the casual coupon-er. Instead it is for those of us who are not content with just saving money. We want to also make money on the things we purchase. This is possible if you plan ahead for your trips.
This group is not for the common free sample. It is for the free full size product. It is for those deals that we can use a coupon on and then get a full rebate on the pre-coupon price.
This group will alert you to those wonderful Test Drives that offer great rewards. They are usually 50.00 gift cards.
This group will also help you with larger coupons that are available such as the current 20% off purchase at Big Lots. It will also keep you informed with the deals with your cards from kroger, Hallmark, Petco and more.
You will also learn of programs that will save you plenty on your prescription medications.
Check it out and see what is relevant for you and your families needs.
What do you think about the US being in a recession?
Do you think there is any way to prepare for a recession or a depression?
Are you into this kind of savings on products that you purchase on a regular basis?

That is wonderful. We have considered taking our 401K and paying off the mortgage with it. However, this can be tricky.
I have a question about buying meat reduced. Is there anyway you can tell if reduced meat is bad other than the color?
I don't have anything about the recession to share, but I do have a great "stacking the deals" story to share.
This week, we needed a printer for my BF's daughter. (well, she has needed one for a while and I had been searching, but that is another story...)
Out of the blue he came home with one from Staples. He was so proud. It was $99 and he handed me the receipt to fill out for a $50 rebate. I was proud that he got a deal, but I asked, "did you use the empty ink cartridges and the $20 off coupon that I left for you in the truck?" What coupon? What cartridges??
After about 15 minutes of digging through the truck....I came up with them. So, back we went to Staples. They are so nice and didn't blink an eye when I told them what I wanted to do. We returned the printer, (on paper only, they didn't make us lug it back in) used the ink cartridges and the coupon.....once we get the rebate from them, we will have paid $21 for the new printer!! He did get a great deal, but with a little more work, we saved another $29!!
We stock up the pantry for hurricane season. And we have started already just in case of a recession.
I used to work in a grocery store. The lights on the cooler case will change the color of the meat. As a result, most stores use very light green plastic wrap on it so you cant see the color as well. I never purchase old ground meat. I would rather purchase a large chunk and grind it myself on my Kitchen aid mixer. You would not believe how many hands touch your meat and when it is ground, it adds at least three more pairs of hands.
Thanks for the compliment but That just goes to show that you really dont know me very well.
