Environment alert... Tell your senators

The International Law of the Sea Protection covers every aspect of ocean and marine life protection. The United States won't be able to participate in discussions and decisions internationally until the senate votes to sign the Treaty, and the vote is approaching. Every other industrialized nation has signed.  We are not only not leading, we are not currently minimally participating in this important arena.  Please follow the link and tell your senators to vote us in!

Mariana, I hope so because we all need healthy ocean waters, and marine life. Our reputation as a world leader has suffered a great deal on so many levels under this administration. We are so lagging in this area. It is so simple to send an email to your senators via the provided link. It is such a small thing to do. I hope everyone will.

Good work Deb! That's actually not a problem here in RI. BOTH of our senators are part of the movement to ratify. This state is a traditional home of the US Navy, the US Coast Guard, and a thriving fishing industry. So it's a no brainer for Senators Reed and Whitehouse.

I suspect our senators here already support this.

I'm glad you referred back to this because I was away for a bit and I missed this. You should send a mail when the issue is important. I know I don't mind an occasional referral.
So I signed the petition for the Natural Defense Council. This is where I think my vote counts. I hope all is well.
