I Have Found My Life's Work

We live in a world. A world... full of people.

All kinds of people make up this world; people with hopes, dreams, and visions of the type of world they want to live in.

Some people want to live in a world free of poverty.

Some people want to live in a world free of sickness and disease.

Some people want to live in a world free of war, violence, and persecution.

Some people want to live in a world where people are judged by their abilities and not by the color of their skin, their gender, or their cultural heritage.

All of these visions of the world are noble ones, worthy of dedicating a lifetime to bringing about the changes needed to make these visions come true.

But what about me? What kind of world do I want to live in?

Simple. I want to live in a world where cats have saddles:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the prototype saddle dubbed the KPSM-1 (Kitty Prototype Saddle Mark-1). It's the result of about an hour's worth of cutting and gluing Friday night. But will it fit on a cat?

Success! Phase one complete. Now onto the ever important phase two: training spider monkeys to ride them in the first ever monkey kitty rodeo.

It's a noble pursuit.

I miss having cats. I always had cats while growing up, but developed allergies in later years. I fear, however, that you've developed something far worse than allergies. Step away from the cat, Chris. Step away from the cat!
Dear God. I thought me and my husband were the only ones who did this kind of stuff. It's a good thing we're not neighbors. That could be dangerous.

Janna, as soon as I can find a suitable test dummy for the first ride, I'll post the video. We tried a few stuffed animals that we have at the house but none would fit in the saddle.

We also tried a Barbie but her jeans were too tight so she couldn't get her feet in the stirrups. Stripping her so she could ride Lady Godiva style felt so very wrong.

Seriously, you made me laugh so hard when I got your punchline. Unfortunately, I tortured my kitties that way when I was about four or five years old. I am afraid you may have mentally regressed to the age of a precocious preschool girl. Hurry get help before it's too late!

Reminds me of the "herding cats" commercial and all those rough, tough cowboys with their vary scarred arms, similar to the arms of my dear husband after he decided to wash two very dirty cats. The only thing that changed was that my husband got dirty, too. The cats never touched the water!
