Sen. Edward M. Kennedy will endorse Senator Barack Obama tomorrow, according to reports appearing in today's online edition of The Boston Globe.
Caroline Kennedy, of the late President John F. Kennedy, wrote an op-ed in today's New York Times that Barack Obama would be "A President Like my father" http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/27/opinion/27kennedy.html?_r=1&oref=slogin)
The Clinton campaign has been rocked by excoriations from House Majority Whip Jim Clyborn's admonition to "chill," and other such scoldings, ironically from one-time Clinonista Rep. Rahm Emmanuel (an Illinois congressman), and Senator Kennedy.
Question: Will these latest developments change the political calculus in the Democrat Party?
Who will the Democrats turn to as their party's standard bearer in November?
Obama, the candidate of "change?"
Hillary, the candidate with "experience?"
What do you think, Gather.com?

It'll be Hillary vs. McCain. Don't get me started on McCain. I hate his guts!
JOhn McCain's Headquarters for President
Hillary and Hillary-lite
It is quite a blow for the Clintons to watch the endorsements go to Obama. I think that Obama will get trounced at the general election.
I'm asking a fair question, not to fight...I just don't think so, and I think it is going to be Hillary and our (the GOP) version of Hillary, John McCain.
I think that the Democratic Party is ready for a black man. In fact, in my neck of the woods the party is coming out for Obama. I think they are afraid of Hillary. They shouldn't be. I wrote an article after New Hampshire stating that it will be McCain vs. Clinton. That's my prediction and I'm sticking to it.
Rocco- I am not a fan of McCain at all but I would choose him over any of the democrat candidates right now.
Lera -I agree.
It will be interesting to see how Obama is "denied the prize." Will it be his "lack of experience?" A rumor about "past drug use?" We'll have to see...
It will be Clinton and Wesley Clark, to go against McCain-Huckabee (neither of which I am happy about, but I'll spare you my bile/disappointing rants!!!!)
McCain-Huckabee 2008 Presidential/VP HQ
I think the guy is a SOB.
Whoa - I like the McCain-Huckabee Presidential/VP HQ.
hillary will not appreciably change policy vis-a-vis Iraq and the war on terror. I don't have time to go into why. Its way past my bed time.
Universal health care would be a nightmare. I lived in Canada, I know. We can fix health care somehow, without turning our country into Cuba (or Cuber). I think we are smarter than that. At least I hope we are.
Huckabee is a snake in the grass...don't get me started on HIM either. I'm tryhing to keep the BP down before bed.
Wow! an intelligent conversation w/someone who is th polar opposite of me on issues. Thanks for not shit*ing on my thread, like so many others have done in times past :) lol....
i just asked a simple questions, so don't start, people!
keep it civil!!!

Grrr ....... I'll try. But politics brings out the evil in me.
Carter - I am fully aware of the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton pattern here. I just like Hillary Clinton. I don't know if the Democratic Party is ready for Clinton or Obama, but I think we will find out this year sometime.
lera...now i'm going over to the "dark side too"
i don't know what i like the best...the dog...or the pink panties!
lol
it is sexist...
it is dog-ist...
and almost...
NUDIST!!!
if i want to do the others, i can pick a fight with my beautiful wife! just kidding! she is the angel of the two of us.

I bet. No doubt about that one.
I am going with Obama. If you dont want to vote for the black side of him then vote for the white Obama.
Seriously I dont think race should be an issue in this.
Joe: Too late. We already have or are building permanent bases in Iraq.
Rocco: Uh.....I hate to break this to you, but women are the majority in this country.
Throw in Michael Bloomberg, and someone has to get 34% of the electoral college votes to win.
Anyone other than Clinton and McCain, and Bloomberg has got a good shot at it, and I think he knows that.
Excellent post, Rocco. I'll add my ten points to an earlier article.
Carolyn: Glad to hear that women are the majority. That means more you-know-what for me!
Re: Universal health care=we'll agree to disagree. I'm not sure how bad "the people" will want it once they learn what it is like in Great Britain, Canada, Cuber, etc.
Tim: Thanks, that is what we do! :)
I think Bloomberg makes this race a pain in the ass for Hillary AND McCain. I'm not a Bloomberg guy, but may vote for him just because I despise the other two as much as I do. I would not consdier that throwing away my vote because I think Bloomy has a legitimate shot at winning the race, especially if he picks the right running mate, a Chuck Hagel, someone who really blasts the hyper-partisanship of DC.
RE: Women...Hillary polls very, very high negatively among women, so I'm not sure where you are going with that. Obama, on the other hand, polls high with women, and white suburbanites.
I think the race will come down to Hillary-Wesley Clark versus John McCain-Mike Huckabee or SC Governor Mark Sanford w/the winner being.....
I made up a test from quotes during the Senate campaign in '06, no one guessed which quote came from Hillary, and which came from Amy.
Tim Pawlenty is less of a mirror, and more of a chameleon. He is stumping for McCain all over the country.
McCain is such a dick-head in my book, I don't think about him much. All I'm going to do is show up on election day, hold my nose, vote for him, find the nearest rest room (men's or womens) and throw up.
If Mike Bloomberg runs, I'll vote for him just to stick it up McCain's leathery old keister.
Run, Mikey Run!!!!
It's a deal.
I just hate McCain! And I'll never vote DEM.
Everyone has their weakness...please don't hold this against me! lol
