Genenette's birthday is February 3rd. She will be 28 and has everything. She got a new house, and with it came a house- warming party where she got all that anyone could need in kitchen needs. Then she got married, and again the gifts and knick-knacks came in great quantity. After that was the birth of her first child, Jayde, who is now a year old, and with the baby came a big baby shower. Jayde is a very lucky baby. All these recent events, added with past birthdays and holidays leaves me with the question-" What do I get my sister for her birthday?"
I want to get her something that shows her how much I love her, and at the same time have it be something she can use. Genenette has always been a great help to me growing up, even though she is the younger sister. I found myself leaning on her often.. She is a great friend and a better sister than I deserve. She is a wonderful mommy to Jayde and she needs to feel special. So I'd like to be able to get her something special. Does anyone have any good ideas???

Lena I like your idea about books but all she gets to read now days are kid books to Jayde so I don't know what she likes to read.
A big houseplant sounds good too Jeff she likes plants. It would have to be pet and baby save thow for sure..
Thanks for all of your help!!! keep the ideas comming I need them..
I think something personal would be great. Something that she will not receive from anyone else. Something that she will treasure and think of you everytime she sees it.
Have you seen the new Hallmark cards that play music when you open them up. They are $5.00 each but everyone just loves them. We have begun to buy them for everyone in our family. They all have been well received.
How about giving her coupons for favors from you. Maybe a night of babysitting so she can go out with her husband. Maybe a coupon for a night out with just you to the movies. I think she would like that. I love giving coupons as gifts. Just make them up. You can print some really nice ones online. Put them in a Hallmark card. Maybe with each of the times that she uses the coupons, you could give her something to remember them with. For instance, give her a journal for her birthday. Then when you and her go to the movies, give hre the ticket stub for her journal. Give her a photo of her and her husband as they leave for thier date the night you babysit.
Do you see where this is going??? Instead of a birthday..... she will have a birth week or birth month. The posiblities are endless. I am so tired, please excuse the typos. I am going to bed now.
If you really got $$$, you could try a travel thing for her. A motel nearby for her man and her? For one night? A relaxing thing for them.
Some cool lotion? Maybe some fruit kind from Bath & Body works?
You could try all kinds of things. You could also look around her new home and get ideas of what she has/likes.
good luck.. best wishes,
Michelle
Maybe you can keep my advice for later reference. ;)
