It's Good to Know: 5 Things You Might Not Know You Can Do on Google

1. Enter "define" in the Google search box, then a colon, then a space, and then the word or expression you want defined.
2. Find out what Google thinks about just about anything or anyone (including you) at www.googlism.com.
3. Enter an airplane's tail number in the Google search box to find out the plane's service history.
4. Yankees or Red Sox? Heaven or hell? Pen or sword? Which one gets more Google hits? Find out this and much more at www.googlefight.com.
5. Enter a few key ingredients to get many recipes.

This was in my email newsletter Early to Rise. I had alot of fun with Googlism.com and I found out for the first time you could use the define feature.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing- I might have to try some of those out. I had heard about using google to find a recipe but not the others.

You can also use it as a conversion tool and a calculator.

I googled myself once and none of it was really me. Apparently my alter ego is a really well published chemist. I was lucky to pull C's in chemistry in high school!

Google has a lot of these hidden tidbit ... more than other search engines I've used. Also, for writing on Gather, I have found the spell check on the Google Toolbar very helpful.

Dave - "yankees" is a much more generic term than "red sox". I wouldn't stress about it. Just think - two more days until "Truck Day"!

Turns out "Sorry, Google doesn't know enough about jeff cusson yet." Apparently me and The Google need to spend more time getting acquainted according to Googlism.
