Well Sue, I had just finished the first Haiku and walked into my son's bedroom where he was pitching on an xbox 360? game. As I entered, the bat cracked and I heard the roar of the crowd, felt the afternoon sun on my face, smelled the bq my dad was making and heard Harry Carry's (sorry I am not sure of the spelling) voice on the crackling radio.

I was about 6 years old walking toward the back steps, coming in after playing on the swings.
All of that was triggered by those sounds I heard upon entering my son's room.
(but then, you already knew I was strange :)

You know Penni, someday I would love to have a "beat this one" talk with you of the tales of our lives. I think we could both surprise each other, or at least have some very good laughs!

Really great haiku, I could hear the bat crack too, Still go every year to the church soft ball games or at least the tournaments and know when you hear that crack and your team is up, it is a wonderful sound, love it.
