Do you use Trip Advisor?

I'm always looking for ways to get good advice on hotels, restaurants and cultural attractions on cities that I visit. How do you find Trip Advisor as a way to get advice? I've had pretty good luck so far myself in the Trip Advisor forums, but I'd love even more resources.

(I'm planning a trip to NYC next week, taking the Vamoose Bus from Bethesda MD -- only $25 each way!!!! -- and staying at the Muse Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel property.)
