My friend makes a "red beans and rice" that he brought to work all the time that was great. He said it was like they make in Puerto Rico though, where he is from. I wonder what the ethnic origins of this is, and how they vary from region to region?
Anyway, thanks for the recipe, sounds great to me!

John, I used to date a Puerto Rican guy, and his beans and rice was VERY different. He used goya sazon as seasoning, for one. I wish I could remember the rest, it was some of the best I have ever eaten, then or since.
