My wife and I have been talking about this issue over the past few months. I seem to be more excited about it then she, but I am 4 years older than her. She is starting a career and enjoys her job. I want to build our household and experience the joy of being a father.
It seems that our culture is split on this decision, but the majority of the younger generation view children as a burden, a chore, an end to freedom. To me, this is the opposite of the biblical definition which clearly portrays children as a blessing.
Yes, of course my world would change. There would be Doodlebops and Transformers toys and other kids stuff, but my understanding of the Father's love for me would be forever changed. I want to know that love. I want to know the perspective and the mindset of a father, and not just a child. I want to pour out love on a child as He has done for me. I also want my kids to know their grandparents well, and that means sooner rather than later.
