One Year Check-up...One Month Late

Well since my daughter turned one on December 22nd she was due for her one year vaccinations. I had this appointment scheduled a few weeks ago but had to cancel because Callie had a fever. I was sort of relieved in a way because I got to put off the dreaded shots. My daughter is very smart and she knew what was going on as soon as we walked into the doctors office. Every time someone opened the door to the office waiting room Callie would try to run out. When we finally got into one of the examining rooms she was distracted by the crinkly paper on the table for a few minutes. Then the nurse came in to weigh Callie. My little angel screamed just from having to sit on the baby scale but we found out that she weighs 21 pounds! After this we were left waiting with her in her diaper. She was not impressed. The doctor showed up to do a brief exam and it caused more drama. Even the stethoscope was apparently terrifying. The doctor asked if she could walk holding on to things and I told him she could run holding on to nothing. Then he asked if she had any teeth yet and I answered six. When the doctor asked if she had any words in her vocabulary I told him she had at least thirty. He was clearly suprised that my little premie was so advanced! When he left the nurse came back and  gave Callie her shot and there was alot of screaming. The nurse left and came back with a cracker. My little doll took the stopped crying instantly and bit into her cracker with a smile on her face! At least she recovered quickly but I was a little shaken up by the ordeal for a while. She is now sleeping peacefully and I should do the same! Thanks for reading this!
