I recently read PS I Love You, by Cecelia Ahern with my teenage students in our school's book club. The kids loved it, and I was especially proud that the one young man that we have in our club was completely enthralled by the book. He read it in a matter of hours and was so excited about it, asked me every day which part of the book I was in. This was especially endearing to me as his math teacher. I don't usually get to see the kids in this state of enchantment!!!
Well, when the movie came out, we decided as a club to take the ride over to our local cineplex. Armed with popcorn and boxes of tissues, we nestled down in our stadium chairs and anxiously awaited the movie.

The movie, I thought was cutesy. The kids found some fundamental differences in the movie and the book, and were dissappointed by the utter lack of character development of some major characters from the book. I missed them when they were not introduced in the movie. I did LOVE "Pheobe" in the movie. She plays Holly's best friend, and she, in my opinion MADE the movie worth watching.
Overall, like most book lovers, I enjoyed the book so much more.
An interesting bit about the author: She is the daughter of the current prime minister of Ireland. PS I Love You was her debut novel. Keep writing, Cecelia Ahern!!!
