I had to look this form up. There's more than one method, but I see that you chose the five line, counted-syllable style. You maintained that form nicely.

My only suggestion would be to move the image out of the poem. It interrupts the flow for me. But that's just me.

For me, I really do like this much better. My focus is all on the words, now. The photo/image complements, but does not compete with the poem.

In the poem, Kate I like the dreamy, creamy auditory connection and the link between your thoughts being dark blended and the coffee is, as well.

Also, I only drink decaf myself. I don't want to ever wake up that much as if I were to drink regular. ;-)

Thanks to Susan, I know that cinquain takes a variety of forms (check out her poem; it's good). Thanks to my intergalatic traveler gather friend, Kathy, I was introduced to this form as: a short, usually unrhymed poem consisting of 22 syllables distributed as 2,4,6,8,2, in five lines. It was developed by the Imagist poet, Adelaide Crapsey.

Decaf? Me, too, but used this because I love to hear someone order a low-fat, decaf cafe latte. It sounds so pretty. And because coffee without caffeine has the same just-out-of-reach feel for me that I get drinking decaf (though I applaud all attempts to live a healthy life)...

What fun. That was a dream of writing.
I like the way this cinquain flows Kate. Smooth with a few lumps...probably only me and the way I'm reading it : - ) Distant dreamy is smoooooth and then we get to café latte
Decaf...more use of the mouth...does that even come close to making sense?
