Since the ascendancy of the audacious campaign of Senator Barack Obama, former President William Jefferson Clinton has been anything by blithe about the prospect of the first African-American getting the Democrat nomination for President.
CNN.com reports that House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, one of the most powerful African-American leaders on Capital Hill, reportedly told the former president to "chill" with regard to his vigorous attacks on the popular Illinois senator.
Hillary's march to the nomination/coronation was considered axiomatic, until Senator Obama announced his candidacy and began drawing enthusiastic support from primary voters and politicians alike. That he had the "audacity" to challenge the presumptive nominee has met with scorn and derision from the former First Couple.
The rhetoric has become so heated and personal, (dare I say petty and borderline vicious?) that the Clintons run the risk of suffering a backlash. Think about it; Obama's quest for the White House as (potentially) the first African-American is no less historic than Hillary's quest as the first woman.
So why all the anger from the Clintons?

I think he and the Mrs. are just plain scared. I don't have a dog in this race, so don't think I'm shilling for Obama, 'cause I ain't; but the guy is the real deal; a black RFK.
Why is this man smiling?
The Democrat race is fun for me to watch because the Clintons are flaming hypocrites. They are trashing Obama using his race, and the Blacks don't even realize it! Those people are insufferable, immoral, and beyond the pale.
Obama has his own issues. Not exactly a "Black Muslim," he is, however, ill-suited to be POTUS for so many reasons (not the least of which he is woefully inexperienced), it would take me many, many posts to go into it. The Clinton's will finish him off very soon.
