Voting because of Race? Hate to believe it

I watch a lot of news and lately a lot of the reporters have been interviewing people to find out who they are voting for and why.Most of it has been focused in South Carolina and to the african american community because of the upcoming election.I was surprised when many(not all) that were asked said they were voting for Obama because of his color.When asked for another reason many could not give one,some came right out and said it was just because he was a black man or african american,whichever was their choice of words.One reporter asked a woman,well with that reasoning you are a woman also,so why not vote for Hillary? She stated she just wanted someone african american.

I am not writing this to knock Obama,but am puzzled by people who are not thinking about who would be best for the job,what their policies are,what they stand for and what kind of experience do they have,be they democrat or republican.It is a bit scary to think that people would vote for someone because of color or sex in this country like it is a Miss(or Mr)America Pagent.
