So it's the New Year and I bet alot of you made resolutions to lose weight... Did you know 80% of weight loss goals made around new years fail?... Not very good odds right... Well the reason for this isn'r lack of motivation but a lack of realistic goals... On average most women on a "diet plan" lose 1lb a week... Almost not even worth it right!! However, (and this is antother mind over matter thing) women who decided to make "lifestyle changes" lose an average of 3lbs a week or 12lbs a month... Not bad huh... Well in my experience this is why... When I talk to a woman about losing weight and we get to the nutrition part of the plan it goes mostly like this... I give them a recommended cal intake, usually about half of what they are used to consuming... I give them an outling for a healthy diet, usually nothing at all what they are used to eating... I set up a work-out schedule, usually not the amount of time they want to spend in a gym... But on the rare occasion I actually meet someone who WANTS to lose weight... When they look at my plans, their faces light up and they say "So really all I need to do is some adjustments in my diet and schedule and I can do this"... They walk away with a sense of purpose and a great attitude... Here are some of the simple lifestlye changes I recommend:
- give up pop... you really don't need it
- give up fried foods... they are in NO WAY Healthy
- give up refined sugars... They cause bloating anyway
- and lastly... cook your meals... an average restraunt meal runs about 1,000cal... 20g of fat... When a 145lb girl should only take in about 1600-1800cal a day then you've consumed more than half of your daily intake... NOT a good thing
What you will gain buy giving up these few small thing far excedes the loss you will take when not consuming these "comfort foods"... Your energy levels will be higher, you WILL lose weight, confidence will be boosted and your health WILL improve!!!
Happy Training!!!!
